Times are shown on the page.[/quote] [u]General[/u] [b]What exactly is E3?[/b] [spoiler]E3 is the world's most prominent trade show for computer and video games and related products. The show houses opportunity for game developers to show their latest projects, for retailers and distributors to get together and for the press to get the biggest scoops. The most exciting by far at E3 are the respective press conferences of the industry's top tier companies. Electronic Arts, Microsoft, Nintendo, Sony and Ubisoft each year host large briefings where they show new games and hardware. It's here where new hardware, such as Wii U, is announced.[/spoiler] [b]Is the show open to the public?[/b] [spoiler]Nope, the show is not open to the general public. It's intended only for professionals from the industry. Loopholes exist though and while often problematic, non-professionals are known to have entered. But industry qualification is needed to gain access to E3, and those that cannot document their current professional affiliation to the industry are not qualified. Though if you haven't got business at the show, you really shouldn't be there. And besides, most of it is broadcasted (often live) by several news outlets, so it's hard to miss anyway.[/spoiler] [b]When and where does E3 take place?[/b] [spoiler]E3 2013, the actual expo, is scheduled to take place June 11-13, at the Los Angeles Convention Center. Press conferences of Electronic Arts, Microsoft, Nintendo, Sony and Ubisoft happen some days prior.
