Vodafone is the thing in common - Baboon/Weasel Errors Destiny 2 (please comment if you are affected)

Hi Guys, Hey Bungie, We are a clan of 30 People, playing a lot of D2, and since Shadowkeep 7 clan mates are experience a lot of Baboon/Weasel errors. Those errors haven´t been there pre Shadowkeep. A lot of us had 8+h sessions without any errors. Each one of us tried a lot of setup changes and configurations but we still get the same issues. We did of course talk about this, and due to the fact people affected by this are actually experiencing this most of the time on the same time, we started to compare our hardware, ISP and connection setups. The one thing we all have in common is our ISP. Vodafone Germany - and it does not make a difference if we are on Cable or DSL. We are also spreaded around Germany, so it can´t be a local issue. I personally tried every setting, with ipv6, ipv4, package prio and even DNS Servers etc, does not help. We are all wired connected, have all the ports forwarded and are setup perfectly. ;) Please People comment if you are on Vodafone and having the same issue since Shadowkeep. Please Bungie let your network guys check this issue specific with looking at the ISP. Cheers Guardians!

  • Yep, Im a Vodafone user in Spain, and I have the same issues, sometimes I can play for 30 minutes before disconnecting, sometimes more ,but often less. I spent like an hour playing with router settings, but it didnt help, so I decided to search up "Destiny 2 weasel Vodafone" to see if it was my isps issue.

  • My Clanmates and I (all of us are using Vodafone) have the same issue since Shadowkeep. From what I have gathered on the ISP Forum there seems to be a Routing problem but Vodafone says it is outside of their area (not sure if this is true). It doesn´t help anyone if Bungie and Vodafone simply blame the other side. We need a difinitive answer.

  • Hallo ihr lieben, ich habe auch ständig Verbindungsabbrüche/Packet Verluste. Dies fing bei mir mit der Season vom Drifter an, vorher hatte ich nie Probleme. Und ihr könnt es euch schon denken, mein Anbieter ist auch Vodafone. Ich habe folgende Sachen schon ausprobiert: -Ich habe meine PS4 als Exposed Host eingerichtet (vorher waren die Ports manuell freigegeben), so wie es in der PS4 Router Bibel empfohlen wird. -Mein Koaxial Kabel gewechselt und einen Vodafone Techniker zu Hause gehabt. -Einen neuen Router angeschafft. Nichts davon hat geholfen. Irgendwann habe ich in das Vodafone Support Forum geschrieben, da auch meine Leistung der Leitung zu gering war. Nach langen Hin und Her kam heraus, dass ich einen „Rückstörer“ in der Leitung habe. Dieser wurde beseitigt, aber die Verbindungsabbrüche/Packet Verluste blieben. Im Vodafone Support Forum gibt es viele Threads zum Thema Destiny 2 Verbindungsabbrüche/Packet Verluste, aber es wird nie eine Lösung von Seitens Vodafone präsentiert. Auch diesen Thread habe ich bei Vodafone verlinkt, aber eine Reaktion blieb bis jetzt aus. Leider habe ich bis heute nicht geschafft eine Tracert/Pingplotter zu den Servern zu schicken, da das Spiel ja auch eine P2P Architektur basiert. Falls einer von euch noch eine Idee hat, wie man das Routing vom Spiel mal dokumentieren kann, um den Fehler zu finden. Dann seit bitte nicht schüchtern und haut die Info raus.   • Same problem here, a Clanmate and me getting constant baboon errors followed by Weasel Errors (ISP is Vodafone/ Kabeldeutschland, all port settings are fine, no NAT issues, wired connection) No issues with other Games Partychat ect. We getting constant disconnects since the Release of forsaken at the Same time while we playing different activities :( Its annoying!!

      In Italy the common provider for these errors is Fastweb. don't know how to fix this.

    • Same. Vodafone Germany. Cable. Hardwired to my router. Officially it's a 100 mbit/s connections, but I'd rather describe it as a "one Weasel per hour" connection.

      Hier das Gleiche bei mir auch immer wieder Baboon und Weasel Fehler. Germany 84051 Essenbach Error Code Baboon and Weasel 6-8 times a day when it is enough to play raids are currently impossible

      Started to play 9:10 @ 17.10.19 first DC - 9:50 second DC - 10:31 third DC - 10:59 forth DC - 12:52 Contacting Destiny 2 servers.... twice... bäm Titlescreen I had a constant ping running, no package loss

    • I guess this is a legitimate Reason to terminate the Contract. All affected Persons should check their Options and maybe VodafoneDE haves to readjust the Connection.

      • Same here, yesterday in an ironbanner match 5 players were kicked simultaneously. The thing is, its an IPv6 and public IPv4 problem. So as long as you dont have your own IPv4 things will never change. Your ISP wont give you your own IPv4, unless you pay extra (not really an great option). I'm having these weasel issues since day 1 in D2 ( some of my friends as well). I guess for bungie its a "cased closed" - not our problem.

      • Sure seems to be the issue I've been having. Tried pretty much every connection trick in the book, still getting randomly WEASEL'd. Vodafone and Bungie need to figure this out.

      • Hi there. We have seen an uptick in reports from players who use this internet service provider. Our information shows that this ISP seems to have outages that will affect Destiny 2, which requires a constant and stable connection to play. Unfortunately, if an ISP is having issues there is nothing we can do on our side that could resolve that.

        • hey, vodafone customer here aswell in Germany. Exact same issue, every single port opened, getting weasel/baboon errors every 30-60 minutes, its getting to a point where i start up, probably get booted out of my first or 2nd game and just lose any kind of interest for the rest of the day...

          BW, Vodafone. Weasel every 5-10min since Update => unplayable. - Steam - no issues in other games. 11MBit Up, 200MBit Down, 11ms ping

          Germany, 28309 Bremen here getting booted every 10 minutes... Does not happen in other games. Just Destiny 2 somehow.

          • Same problem for me. In generel, i get hit by baboon and/or weasel every 30-60 minutes. Any instructions concerning Upnp, wired conncetion and firewall settings had been made and have no effect. Provider: VodafonDE Hamburg, Kabel

            Here same Problem, im Playing with 2 Mates, One Mate is disconnecting everytime same with me, he has the same Provider. other is Telekom Germany and he hasnt this Issue. Germany, Bremen 27578 Provider, Vodafone (Kabel-Deutschland) Please fix this Issue its ruined the Game, never had this Issues before in other Games on Steam or Battle-Net.
