I'm stuck at one of two bosses. With no online I just have to get gud.
...help me, Jesus...
I have played every Souls game and beaten Dark Souls 2, 100%ed Dark Souls 3 and nearly beat BloodBorne. I'm not sure if the game is super hard or if I just need to unlearn what I have when playing the previous games.
Progress report:
I moved on and got gud, now I'm stuck on two new bosses. I also did this against Lady Butterfly and it felt awesome. I still died though. Link in spoiler.

I finally got around to starting this game and man is it hard. I’m really struggling and I’ve barely begun. I think I’m just too old and lack the reflexes for high speed combat like this. I’m struggling to recognise the unblockable moves in time to pick the correct counter. I seem to dodge when I need to jump and jump when I need to dodge. I’ll stick with it for the time being because I loved Bloodborne and Dark Souls but I think this game has defeated me.

3 RepliesI'm about to fight tutorial boss 2.0

You just need to unlearn some stuff, just don't treat it as a Souls game and You'll be fine. It is actualy pretty intresting to have to switch up your game a bit, it actualy feels a bit fresh and new when compared to what a DaS 4 or a BB 2 would play like.

I was able to kill the bull. Basically just run all the time and try to stay behind him or just far enough in front to where he can't hit you. Don't try jumping or guarding, just run behind him and attack him when he does sharp turns or stops.

3 RepliesI remember dark souls 1 first playthrough....that was hard.

1 ReplyIt looks super tough, but super fun. My only issue is the amount of gore...is there a setting by any chance?

3 RepliesWhat boss you stuck on? And yeah it's hard af, finally beat lady butterfly, and I'm currently in the castle after the horse dude. I personally find the mini bosses harder than the actual bosses themselves tbh

no idea what that is. just glad to see a topic about gaming.

1 ReplyIt kind of clicked for me last night. Deflecting, jumping, and dodging just all started to flow. I feel like I'm in an anime now. I still take the occasional hit, but I can keep up offense and still make the right defensive reads at the right time now and it's so satisfying.

That snake looks scary as shit

The game is super hard. For one thing it demands precision. And for another, there's way less player choice than in Dark Souls. It's a great game, but I'm really struggling with it.

I'm really struggling with it. I'm having a lot of fun, but the clump of enemies doesn't feel very well thought out. The combat mechanics have been expanded on so well, but they don't accommodate more than two dregs at all. This becomes an issue when you have to fight 8 down an alley with no means to get some stealth kills. Maybe I just need to make more use of items like oil and ash, but you can't stay in a fight long enough to break down someone's Posture to get a kill... Then you back out and they recover. I remember there being concerns that this game would be too easy, but it absolutely isn't.

1 ReplyI'm really considering a purchase of this game, but I honestly don't feel like I know enough. How tough is the game, I think that's what will get me the most.

1 ReplyI’m going to play it but that’s the one thing that worries me. I’ve heard it’s harder than Bloodborne/Dark Souls. I always used “easy mode” in those games by summoning help or farming to over level. Doesn’t look like that’s going to be an option this time.
