It shows Bungie is making this game for the wrong people.
With so few players completing the raid (notice they didn't show unique players completing), so few grinding Competitive PvP, and also a relative few getting WotW so far I don't have a lot of faith in Destiny if this is their idea of good end game.
D1 raids, Trials, and special events were great. They offered good rewards for the time invested, but more importantly they understood difficulty progression and scaled difficulty in a manner that gave new players a relatively low barrier to entry into end game (forgiving normal mode raids, Trials bounties, good gear from Forge/Court, etc.) but also offered progressively more challenging modes for hardcore players at the high end (Hard Mode and Raid Challenges, Flawless rewards worth grinding for, etc.).
I don't know what the design philosophy was for D2, but for the average player which I consider myself everything is either too easy and completely boring and mundane (like the current Solstice Armor Grind, Faction Rallies, etc.), or is built for elite clans (Normal Raids with 100% of the mechanics and team wipe mechanics, Competitive Ranked PvP which less than 1% is even able to grind to mid-rank, etc.) And worst of all nothing offers rewards worth grinding for.
More than anything Bungie needs to figure out difficulty progression in Y2 which gives players an easier entry to end-game activities like raids and competitive PvP with gradual scaling of difficulty and rewards consumat with challenge at each level. Right now they have two settings which is ultra-casual (boring), or hard-core (frustrating) which doesn't have much appeal to the 70% of us who live somewhere in between.
