Bungie recently stated in the TWAB that less than 9,000 players have the Claymore, which is less than 2.5% of the crucible population (400k daily). It is also less than 1% of the entire Destiny 2 player base.
What happened to 40% getting it? What a failed system
Edit: It is interesting to note that the few defending the current competitive system are mostly elitists &/or people who get paid to do recoveries/carries ($150-$1000 per customer). They cheat the system & prey on players’ desire to obtain the weapon, especially in the limited time-frame it is available.
Edit 2: the user SebastienC did the numbers and it is actually 0.86% of players active in competitive that have the Claymore. What’s the point of producing a unique gun that 99% of the player base will never get? Why not make something for half the players at least?

i guess the problem is, that there is no solo Q, iam fairly decent in pvp, but i mostly play alone. Since i got 0-6 farmed by full stacks i just gave up. i would like to, but not like this >.<
-
I could probably get it but I have no interest in playing a mode that only randomly punishes quitters, if you quit a comp game, you should be in time out for 24 hours.
-
1 ReplyThat's the way it should be, finally a gun that rewards skill that u normies cannot obtain.
-
yeah... pretty neat that more players went flawless in Season 3 than unlocked the Claymore.

5 RepliesEdited by AT0MIC7: 8/4/2018 12:58:15 AMIt’s fine when forsaken comes out the pvp focused Try hard will look for raid teams and pve players. Don’t help them and pve players like us will dominate due to higher light level. Simple. This gun is hard to get because all these streamers and hardcore pvp players dominate and most do it to make money. Bungie doesn’t realize trials and comp have become money markets.

It's not worth it if it was so good those who have it would wreck in crucible. And when I get killed by it I was being dumb. Regardless of who has it still vigilance Wing or graviton Lance wreck it so do a handful of other legendaries. That guns sits in the vault ane collects dust.

3 RepliesI love mine
-
Im fine with that, ill never get it. There needs to be items only reachable for those who try and be good enough. No handouts.
-
And that's a good thing. Rare prizes is exactly what the game needs.
-
1 ReplyI have no interest running comp, hate the game modes and hate no radar, why it was put behind into the 2 worst game modes survival and countdown I don't get but whatever, there'll be better guns in forsaken

1 ReplyThe game modes in competitive are not fun to play. I don’t like 4v4 or round based Pvp In General. If it was control I’d enjoy it more. That You’re punished for many things out of your control like all the actions and stupidity of your team deters me from playing. I can be good and randoms can do dumb things and you go backwards. Players leave and you get punished. Rewards are a bit buggy. I won a match in a nice comeback, the match ends, they show the final score. A few seconds I get a screen saying I left early. No I didn’t. Bug. That stuff deters me from playing. The nature of Pvp team shotting makes it even harder to progress. You end up often against stacked teams if you try solo. All in all I simply don’t find it much fun. I have played competitive playlists. I do alright but like lots of things in destiny whether I do it is just a function of am I having a good time or is it long and tedious grind. When I stop having a good time I quit. When it becomes a long tedious grind I quit. And trying to get Reddrix claymore feels like both after about four games and I just tend to bow out at that point. And this I don’t make a lot of progress.

Yeah, I was interested at first, but playing Competitive crucible is not something I want to do until all weapons are on the same level
-
Edited by dangernudle: 8/5/2018 4:21:32 AMThat’s because most crucible players only go for milestones and maybe a match or two. After all, most players know it’s a poor excuse for PvP. And calling that competitive? C’mon bungie, competitive modes are supposed to take brain power.

2 RepliesEdited by Raevenent: 8/5/2018 1:53:26 AMWe're not starting this again are we? And I recall them saying that there'll be some things in Warmind where the average joe may not be able obtain, and guess what, the Claymore is one of them. And before you lump me into that group of people you mention? No. I think there are far better weapons, the claymore interests me not, neither do bragging rights, nor do high impact pulses, I strive to min-max my characters and will go through the trouble if it will help them grow, and guess what, the claymore is nothing other than bragging rights, the only one I actually like using is the Machina Dei 4 which is in the same archetype as the claymore but with Ambitious Assassin(Getting almost 60 bullets per clip is satisfying but each to their own)

3 RepliesI have the gun, it’s absolute trash, it physically cannot compete with the meta and whenever I fought others who had it they too just used the meta, it’s just a trophy, can’t really do much with it til the ttk is adjusted
-
3 RepliesWhat good is a vanity weapon that is only decent in pve anyway?
-
Competitive just isn't very popular.
-
I feel like you don't get enough points for winning. It feels like ranking up takes a life time.
-
I have zero issues with the no radar and team based modes. I just wish there was a solo and team queue, or at least it tried harder. It seems like a 4 man team is guaranteed to face a 2 and 2 singles. At least thats how it is for me when i go in with a buddy
-
It's because comp is absolute titty shits...
-
3 RepliesNobody plays that playlist. Games are too long. 4v4 is residential sleeper. No placements to put u in a respectable position to obtain it easier. Once again for the millionth time, just do what overwatch does. 10 placement games. I'm assuming it would be high diamond or masters to obtain the redrix if they adopted the same ranking system
-
Well I'm sure if people wanted to play competitive then 40 percent would have it. But competitive is butt cheeks. So boring. So I'm assuming that's why only like 1 percent have it.
-
I for one at happy this is such a rare weapon, as somebody who doesn't even have it. But I'm assuming they knew their numbers were flawed because people just gave up because it wasn't worth the time crunch to a lot of people I'm sure. If people truly cared I'm sure closer to 30% would have it but why play that long for a situational (but neat) gun?
-
I wish PVE had its own claymore type weapon
-
Comp. is a fukken mess. stuck around the 1200 mark and will probably stay there until they stop matching solos with 4 stacks.
-
I dont blame anyone for no wanted to go for it. No radar. U get kicked alot. On both sides. Ppl leave in solo que. Graviton lance and v wings are beasts and over used. Lol i can go on
