What will be YOUR goty?
So, these are the top contenders in my book.
Destiny ttk, is in a break mode with a stream of updates lined up, and surely some dlc news soon. It's still alive.
Witcher 3, for me at least, is a top 3 for me . This game still has more and plenty to offer. The multiple paths to achieve certain endings and relationships can make this a game to keep coming back to, not to mention one more dlc pack arriving soon.
Can't lie, I'm not cod fan, to many hardcore elitists in it for me. But I can't deny that it's a machine that can't be stopped. Also it's gotten praise from players and critics so definite contender.
Batman AK I enjoyed playing, but I was hugely dissapointed with the season pass content. Not to mention the 2 or 3 different pre-order bonuses from different outlets. But, rocksteady did deliver on a grand finale, and for that I included AK.
Fallout 4. Here it is my choice for goty. Not on a bandwagon, but this game delivers. It's got a storyline with a plethora of sidequests. The ability to create numerous settlements across the game world. A morality system that affects how certain companions and npcs react to you in the world. And my favorite, exploration. Explore, explore, explore. This is my lock in.
Battlefront has yet to come out, but it's staged to take the big online mp battle scene to new heights. 20v20 with trench and vehicular warfare. Not so certain if there is a campaign mode, but the choice to unleash the dark side or use the power of the force is strong with this one and the star wars hype train is full throttle. The only thing that throws me off guard is the expensive season pass. Tbh it's the most expensive one I've ever seen I think.
Others, I'm not biased, as I'm sure there are oyhers out there you all might consider as contenders, so feel free to list them here. Vote away Guardians!
Edit: good comments. Definitely feel like should have added mgs5 as I'm sure it would be in the higher portions of the poll.
It is a tight battle between destiny ttk and fallout 4. Not everyone considers ttk to be a legit contender as its just an expansion upon already established and released title (destiny). That in itself should be a poll.

For people who play Destiny a ton and swear by it I suggest you go and play a game like MG or (though I've only played one of these for a brief time) Witcher and Fallout. Going from Destiny to open world games like these will make you realize how poor of a game Destiny is. Sure it's a little hard to compare given that those games are mostly single player but it's hard to deny how carefully crafted they are especially compared to Destiny. Going from Destiny to games like these have forced me to remember the true artistry of gaming and I suggest you destiny try hards do the same. With that said I'm not giving up on Destiny. Destiny will not "die" like everyone says it will. Yeah far fewer people are playing Destiny now but that's just because it's natural to take a break and play other new games especially with all the great ones out/coming out right now. People will come back when new DLC comes. Here's to just hoping they continue to improve this game but at a greater rate. TTK was a step in the right direction but still had a lot of fundamental issues that make Destiny merely a decent game that's incredibly addicting. I'll probably stick around until Destiny 2. If that game still doesn't have custom games, in-game lore and a more compelling story only then will I start to believe destiny will lose me. TL;DR Metal Gear is awesome and you should take a break from Destiny because it's rewarding to play intuitive games.

5 RepliesBloodborne No other game this year has filled me with the level of exhilaration, nostalgia, familiarity, accomplishment and determination that Bloodborne has. After having dealt with Destiny and other games for too long of a time, Bloodborne really reignited my fire for gaming. Nothing quite beats visceral attacking that first werewolf, without using a weapon. There was a special level of satisfaction there.

Game I played the most and am most addicted to: destiny: the taken King But game of the year is between fallout 4, witcher 3, bloodborne and mgsv. I bet we will see different websites and publications award different games more so than usual. In the end however I see most reviewers hyping a witcher 3 vs fallout 4 final 2--this being the year of open world RPGs. May the best rpg win!

It has insane story, amazing combat, open dynamic world (you can freaking watch a storm roll in), tons of side questing, card game inside a game (that was addictive as heck). It has an amazing story and character and it's fun to play. To add in Witcher 3 was one of my favorite games of all time and I normally don't play games like it. Tomb Raider might even be close behind but so far the story telling is kinda meh.
