Even when the net was in its infancy we had to discover content I'm games on our own. Could you imaging a game like destiny without tutorials and videos showing you everything there is to do in the game.
Destiny would seem 10 times larger than it is. People would interact. We'd always be looking for groups in game and asking people where they got their gear.
It would be a place of constant discovery. There would still be mystery to the game which to me is what is currently lacking.
With all the information we have access to we can look up and complete content that would take us months without the net.

5.5 Floppy Frogger and Fireman games were a thing. Games with prerecorded live action 'cinematic' sequences were a thing. TMNT was a thing. Battletoads, my god Zbattletoads.

All the people saying you could but magazines It still takes a while for the magazines to get published as first 1: they have to actually get enough codes to be able to publish they cant just release a thing with 1 code so they would have to wait weeks-months before people found the code/the company revealed some codes (which rarely happened) 2: you still have to spend money to get the code

Back then, if you wanted to know everything, you would have to buy a $15 guide. Vector Man, Ocrina of Time, Metal Gear Solid. I'd love to say that those were the days, buts lets be honest. Who really would like all of that again?

Yep they were way better

4 RepliesI played Final Fantasy 7 on my ps1 without internet in my house, so i pretty much had to unlock and find every weapon and materia on my own... and I did simply by playing over and over again. I cant quantify the amount of hours Ive spend on that game.

1 ReplyYeah from what I remember they were awesome. I really should pull out my old consoles and play them. Still have my first console that I bought with my own money, Sega Genesis. Always had to have a piece of paper to write down the save code. And you always triple checked that you got it all written down right.

Edited by Famdian: 11/10/2015 3:01:55 AMDestiny would be 10 times better if we had a better way of comminicating in game. Our team of 4 that remained after HoW tried to run the raid blind but gave up at daughters. None wanted to, everyone just watched videos on how to run it. But we had a blast figure it out up to daughters
