Its official Loot from ANYWHERE other than the Raid is pointless
With yesterdays announcement that the Hard Mode will have 310-320 Gear the reality that this game has become one of 2 groups
The PVP'ers and none raiders who get 280-290 ish loot who will be lucky to EVER get to 300 (Because exotics only have a "chance" of dropping at 310 once you reach 300
& Raiders who will soon be reaching 310+ and leaving everyone else in the dust.
as that graph shows the difference of 20 would equate to a delta of 2 AT LEAST!
To be frank the loot levels in anything other than the raid are a joke. Iron Banner which I was looking forward to quickly turned out to be "Oh their 280, oh well at least I won't need to waste my time doing this then...".
We all know that the Nightfall loot is BAD, but my query to this based on what I've seen implies it may have to do with Completing the ENTIRE Taken War story for the Tower, Reef and retrieving the 310 Artefact from Eris after the Raid. (Only THEN do I stop finding 190-205 Green Engram's)

To say the response to this post has been mental, we've had the knee jerk reactors, the sensible and those with reflections to the vanilla destiny so thank you to the later groups who responded in an intelligent manner ^~^
I'm aware power is only important in Iron Banner and Trails but when these occur I don't want people to be at a disadvantage permanently, even if it requires effort it SHOULD be rewarded with something fitting not just a 1% chance of items dropping at 280-300 which you can acquire anywhere...
As a result of the MANY suggestions I put forward a few ideas
# Introduce a quest-line for PVP players to acquire a 310+ ghost and Artefact (To my knowledge these are both locked behind the Raid and both only drop up to 300 in the wild) I think IB, Trails styled items would be sought after
# Sell or at least allow to drop 310+ gear in Iron Banner and Trails (The later I'm aware rewards guaranteed at lighthouse)
The last one is probably the most obvious but it would also guarantee a fare playing field..
# ALL Guardians over 300 deal the same damage to each other, regardless of their level, you would still need to be 290+ to be decent but the Hard mode Raiders won't have any advantage

I do wish there was a good way for folks who don't raid to get some things at raid levels. Last year Iron Banner would help out by offering one piece of raid level each round. You couldn't get a full set unless you ran it each iteration, and it didn't always help if all you were missing was say the books, but they were offering arms that time. But it helped. For some reason raid RNG wouldn't give me arms last time, but I was able to get them from IB. At least this year RNG has been better for my team and I in the raid, but one of my friends focuses exclusively on PVP, and I kinda feel for him.

Since I don't care for pvp and don't see the need in hard mode if all I'm getting is higher gear, that really isn't needed in pve, I won't bother with it, and besides too many better, and actually rewarding games are coming.

I don't know how people play this game without doing raids, if there wasn't any raids I would quit first week of release.

The raids are main bosses and you should have to beat them to have the best gear whats the point of someone getting 310+ gear for a 10min crucible or an easy strike? If they did that every nub would have the highest light in a week and kill the game the way etheric light almost did.

PvE is the main point of the game.. PvP is just there as a bonus. Also trials gear could be 300+ unless they've said otherwise.

I'm a PVE guy, not raid or pvp. The best gun i'm looking for is in a RNG strike exclusive drop. I'm not sure how the term hard work applies to getting this gun. armour, i'm going for the psn exclusive look. hard work? it's all RNG again with RNG for the stats. I'm not sure if bungie has their head on straight or not, maybe time to go back and burgle some where in the past...

I say drop 290-300 gear in Iron banner, then drop 300-310 gear in trials, and when you get 5 wins or more the drops are at 310-320 and then from the chest at the lighthouse you get a 310-320 primary drop. It will basically match how raid loot is, but a bit less since it would be easier to grind iron banner a dull week than running normal once a week. And trials doesn't get that tough until you get past 3 wins or so (without any boons, with boons that's just 1-2 wins therefore 5 to balance it out) I agree that raiders get better loot than crucible players, but crucible events can be grinded more than raids (maybe just me thinking that) and in terms of iron banner you don't need much strategy. Trials on the other hand better at least drop 300+ gear, and hopefully it drops 310 + gear, but we'll see. Also there does need to be a way to get artifacts that drop at 300+ other than a quest requiring the raid. Even for hard mode, its annoying to know that 320 light can't be achieved due to no way to get a 310+ artifact.

Honestly if PVP offered real end game gear, I'd be a full time PVP player. I like PVE, but only the strikes. The raids are full of too many elitists and assholes. PVP allows me to play solo if I like (except for Trials) or in a small team.
