With yesterdays announcement that the Hard Mode will have 310-320 Gear the reality that this game has become one of 2 groups
The PVP'ers and none raiders who get 280-290 ish loot who will be lucky to EVER get to 300 (Because exotics only have a "chance" of dropping at 310 once you reach 300
& Raiders who will soon be reaching 310+ and leaving everyone else in the dust.
as that graph shows the difference of 20 would equate to a delta of 2 AT LEAST!
To be frank the loot levels in anything other than the raid are a joke. Iron Banner which I was looking forward to quickly turned out to be "Oh their 280, oh well at least I won't need to waste my time doing this then...".
We all know that the Nightfall loot is BAD, but my query to this based on what I've seen implies it may have to do with Completing the ENTIRE Taken War story for the Tower, Reef and retrieving the 310 Artefact from Eris after the Raid. (Only THEN do I stop finding 190-205 Green Engram's)
#EDIT#
To say the response to this post has been mental, we've had the knee jerk reactors, the sensible and those with reflections to the vanilla destiny so thank you to the later groups who responded in an intelligent manner ^~^
I'm aware power is only important in Iron Banner and Trails but when these occur I don't want people to be at a disadvantage permanently, even if it requires effort it SHOULD be rewarded with something fitting not just a 1% chance of items dropping at 280-300 which you can acquire anywhere...
As a result of the MANY suggestions I put forward a few ideas
# Introduce a quest-line for PVP players to acquire a 310+ ghost and Artefact (To my knowledge these are both locked behind the Raid and both only drop up to 300 in the wild) I think IB, Trails styled items would be sought after
# Sell or at least allow to drop 310+ gear in Iron Banner and Trails (The later I'm aware rewards guaranteed at lighthouse)
The last one is probably the most obvious but it would also guarantee a fare playing field..
# ALL Guardians over 300 deal the same damage to each other, regardless of their level, you would still need to be 290+ to be decent but the Hard mode Raiders won't have any advantage

1 ReplyYou, sir, are an idiot.

4 RepliesWell your first problem is that you mostly pvp. This game has horrible pvp. I love how you can get a post mortem melee kill. Pvp is a buggy glitch filled laggy mess. For some reason bungie caters to you asshats and nerf any half decent weapons. Go play any other shooter for proper pvp, scrubbbbbb
-
4 RepliesThis is a pve game though, play cod if you're into pvp
-
2 RepliesIt's a pve based game, if ALL you care about is pvp, then go find a different game. No where did it say you could exclusively play either pvp or pve and expect to not suffer any sort of loss by missing out on the other aspect of the game.
-
2 RepliesIt's been like that with the previous 2 raids.

I like the PvP in this game (despite it's massive issues). Never had any interest in the raids. If this post becomes true and I can't do IB to any satisfaction because my level is too low, then I'll just assume I've been pushed out the door and I'll finally play something else. This is the only multiplayer I've ever had, but this Fallout and a few others look pretty interesting, tbh. Bungie seems to be so anti-player these days anyway, it might be time to give it a little rest for a while.

4 RepliesDo the raid... #problemsolved

raid is end-game content... that is how it should be.

Edited by The Woolldozer: 10/24/2015 9:26:51 PMSuch a long post. Not gonna read all of that when it's a safe assumption that it can be summed up by your thread title.

2 RepliesMy warlock is 305 without raid gear.

The reason why power advantages is enabled in trials is to give the people who don't play pvp/are really bad at it a chance to beat the people who play pvp all the time
for those who don't get it, it's satire
-
2 RepliesExcept with infusion and engrams, you can get every piece of gear to 310 without the use of the raid. Except boots, ghosts, bond, and artifacts. Which means if you get those over 300 (now possible with new nightfall drops) you can easily get to 306-309.
-
I don't get it. I didn't graduate from law school and pass the Bar. How come I don't get to practice law?
-
Has it been confirmed that trials drops wont be high light level
-
1 ReplyDoesnt matter. You only need 310+ light to do the raid. And if youre not a raider, then you dont do raids, then you dont need 310 light etc...

Does trials have level advantages? If not then iron banner is the only time when your bitching is valid.

This stuff used to bother me, but I play the whole game. Raids, trials, etc. So now I don't give a shit
-
I think the next iron banner will rise to 300 to bridge the gap now that theres a 20+ light disparity between Raiders and non Raiders
-
2 RepliesThe sad part is; the raid gear IMO isn't that good (weapons AND armor just isn't cool compared to great things such as: VOG fusion rifle Black hammer Hunger of crota Fatebringer Praedyths revenge
-
6 RepliesYour light level effects the armor/attack values of exotics that you recieve. If you are over 300, exotics have a chance to be 310. It's likely that once we are 311+, that exotics can then be found at 320. But certainly legendary will still be 300 and below.
-
You just have to find people that are real patient sherpa's I'm one to a extent. But other than that I get what you mean.
-
That's how the game is supposed to be. Play the raids and get over it
-
9 RepliesI mean... Did you play before HoW? Cuz that's literally how it always was
-
Yeh I hate this new light system to be honest.

I wonder what trails of Osiris is.......hmm.
