This nightfall was the stupidest thing you've done.
EDIT: THIS IS NOT ABOUT ME HAVING DIFFICULTY WITH THE NIGHTFALL, BUT FOR THE NEWER PLAYERS WHO ARE CLOSING IN ON BEING ABLE TO DO IT. BUNGIE TOLD US IN A WEEKLY UPDATE TO TAKE IT EASY ON THE CHRISTMAS NOOBS, BUT THEY AREN'T HELPING THEM OUT EITHER.
I have 3 characters that are beyond capable of doing the nightfall, so that isn't an issue for me. But REMOVING THE ELEMENTAL BURN FROM THE NIGHTFALL IS ABSOLUTELY IDIOTIC!!! Those who aren't 30+ have no chance, and even IF you are you have to have a full team, for an hour. Replacing an elemental burn with LIGHTSWITCH?!?! What was going through your head? "Hmm... Let's make sure most can't win, and let's leave ascendent materials in the loot table for them to have completely wasted their time." You just keep making poor decisions right after the other, one of which being taking your lovely vacations before giving us promised holidays gifts for supplying you with your salaries. You are filthy and gluttonous people. Great game, but that doesn't help when you don't help your customers, or meet your promises.

This sounds more like a Co.plaint by someone that had a difficult time completing the Nightfall and got bad loot at the end. If you are a Christmas noob, then welcome to Destiny! This game will spit in your face and not even give you a towel to dry it off. But you know what? Your gonna keep coming back for more like everyone else. If you're not a Christmas noob, then what the hell are you complaining about? This sint the first time there has been no burn modifier on a Nightfall. And you should know that just because you do one of the hardest challenges in the game does not guarantee amazing loot. Take it on the chin, rub some dirt in it and walk it off.

This has got to be one of the easiest Nightfalls next to Nexus. You really only have to kill lieutenants, tank, and Valus. People have been known to solo this - check YouTube.

2 RepliesFor the love of God this isn't the first time this has happened with the nightfall, why does everyone feel the need to complain? The modifiers are random for the nightfall and weekly, they aren't the exact same every week, just like the strike that's chosen.

2 Replies90% of the playerbase quit because the game is too repetitive, RNG and frustrating (nightfalls, raid formation, the raids, etc) meanwhile the small minority that remains acts like everything in this game is easy #somanyignorantpeeps

Honestly, an elemental burn puts the nightfall in easy mode. That it's not there this week doesn't bother me at all. It's just the luck of rngesus. Last week with solar burn on the omnigul strike, everyone just flew through it. Burn will probably make it's way back next week, so don't worry.

I agree to an extent, but the nightfall is supposed to be extremely hard and you can be level 31 very quickly if you play right. For example my alt character with 40 hours on him has everything to get to 32 except the shards. But I agree with your point on the ridiculous rng loot, I have had six nightfall runs in a row with either ascendant shards or legendary guns, 4 of those were the same sniper rifle.

I actually consider this one of the easier strikes. Didn't need an elemental damage at all in my opinion.

1 ReplyI solo'd it with a half leveled ice breaker 1.0. and no ammo synths. Its not that difficult, man. Now its the 7 strange coin reward I have an issue with.

1 ReplyNothing a weapon of light and Gjallarhorn can't fix.. Seriously though, me and my buds took down big Cabal dude with ease this week. I even finished nightfall with only two players with my Titan. It's easily doable without a full fireteam.

Harder wasn't the problem with me. Getting 7 strange coins with two characters and 8 ascendant energy is my problem.

6 RepliesThe problem being almost anything Cabal uses solar. Can you imagine doing the strike with solar burn activated? It'd be extremely hard with everything doing so much damage on you. But, not enough enemies use anything other then solar to make other burns viable, it'd be way to easy if you had that Burn damage while virtually no enemies had it, you'd blaze through it. The solution is to have no burn, that way it's still difficult, but not too difficult or easy. Frankly, who lets cabal touch them anyway? I very rarely get hit by melee fighting the cabal, so lightswitch really didn't make all that much of a difference.

It didn't make it harder. Just longer. And more boring.... I love the burns because they make the nigh falls fun!

No burner makes it a.normal strike but with shields. I thought it was a lot easier then omnigul nightfall. It seemed like just a normal strike to me. Idk.

4 RepliesTheir is still burn its solor and void. Just cuz their is no overall standard burn dosent mean shield types are out the window. And ive been waiting for a non specific nightfall for over a month. Its the only hard challenge in the game at the moment. Solo btw.

It was definitely slow going, but not as bad as you make it sound. I did it solo in about an hour. The key is just to hang back far away from everything and snipe the night away

1 ReplyNot sure how long you have been playing, but i have been at it since day 1. Unfortunately, I was one of those people stuck at 29 because RNG was not kind and I never got the VOG boots. The "Christmas Noobs" don't understand what we veterans went through to try and get to 30, but now with a bit of bounty grinding they can go straight to 31. They will be alright without a burn on the Nightfall...with all the cheesing and a free raid chest every week, let them work for something. We have.

3 RepliesYou know you can skip like 90% of this strike right? You can go straight to the 3 mini bosses and the tank and sit back and snipe. Then you can pass all the enemies and go straight to valuus t'arc or whatever hes called. On the right of where he is you can hide in the corner behind the ramp. Theres a small hole you can shoot the psions and other enemies from and you can jump onto the box and peek over the ramp to shoot the boss without him hitting you (if you do it right)
