I’m not sure how to give feedback directly to bungie with this idea so maybe posting it here would get it somewhere. I feel like Destiny 2/Destiny should go totally free to play. Hear me out. Every bit of content that releases that’s playable should be free, campaigns, season pass, dungeons, weapons, etc. BUT add a trading system, and make silver the universal trading currency for the game. Keep bright dust, it’s store and glimmer as they are. Say someone got an extra T5 shiny you’d love to get your hands on and you don’t have the time to grind? Well you could give them either silver or something to their agreement in a trade for it. Someone have a shader they don’t care for but you really want? Pay em a couple silver for it. Someone has an emote that just rots in their huge collection, but it’s your favorite crossover emote? Ask to buy it from them. This system should exclude raid items/exotics, or make it so that both guardians must own the said exotic for trade, so rolls still may be tradeable/purchase able. Then the amount of profit from the game would directly come from the game state rather than pushing dlc sales. I mean think about it, they would definitely have to improve the grind, the loot and the portal system but if someone could come and get invested in a fun game with great systems and mechanics, with ZERO monetary investment, they’d be more willing to drop some money on silver to get some things they want. Especially during events like festival of the lost, or trying to chase that fashion they love. You should have to be of power, or higher to the item being traded to you, so you can’t just buy to max. Any shaders/emblems/transmat/ghost shells (excluding raid, trials, or offers) should be removed from the sellers account and have to be reacquired, I mean duh you’re selling it. Idk how they’d add a grind for cosmetics like ghost shells, shaders and ships etc but they should be added as bonuses to pinnacles or regular loot pools. I can’t lie if yall would make this change and then actually made the game have a tiny bit more variety to grind, you’d honestly make the comeback nobody saw coming.
