Whisper mission had a timer, and that was dope
Zero hour had a timer, and it was dope
If anything the timer makes you more efficient at clearing areas and using certain loadouts to maximize speed and efficiency.
I don’t mind the timer

Perception is reality I guess, I think the Zero Hour mission was terrible.
-
I had a stint of like three weeks doing nothing but helping people run Zero Hour. Loved that mission to death lol
-
Don’t try to encourage them, they just love complaining too much, nothing can stop them.
-
but 25m is barely enough time given the difficulty. You could solo Heroic Whisper and Zero Hour with much more room for error and plenty of time left
-
Tbh ive been running low light people through it with 5 mins to spare its easy
-
I mean solo
-
Okay then yeah little difficult still do able
-
Now...not when it 1st came out....wait 2 year and get your presage some easy
-
nope, Whisper was even easier when it first came out, with how often heavy dropped, how strong abilities and weapons were, how fast supers charged, ect. Zero Hour was also super easy given how broken the entire game was in season 6 I'm meaning the timer for solo btw, but a solo dosen't really matter, I just misread the triumph
-
Zero Hour was hell. I completed it once with the glitch and the rest of it was my team getting there.
-
Those missions were dope in spite of it, not because of it. You do realize that right...?
-
Since everyone as a stick up them, here is my actual take. The timer sucks as it leaves zero room for error. Some people can do it just fine, others can't either because they can't be bothered to run the same mission over and over again, or they just don't care. My solution; introduce a checkpoint, just like in Ace Combat. You have 20 minutes to get to the boss room, then 10 minutes to kill the boss. If you die before reaching the boss room, you get sent to the beginning. If you die in the boss room, you start the boss encounter over. If you are one of those "skilled" gibbons that can do it all in one go, congrats, here is a shader and some glimmer to go along with your gun. If you can't do it all in one go, good job on surviving, here is your gun.

Zero hour had an actual reason for having a timer. Weren't you trying to stop the enemy from escaping with siva? I don't remember if whisper was similar but honestly zero hour is the only mission I can recall where the timer actually makes sense within the context of the mission.

Edited by More Power: 2/24/2021 6:43:09 PMWhisper mission.... didn't do it. Won't do it. Why? cuz of the stupid timer. The jumps looked fun, but by the time you got into it just partway, I had to start over... then it took way to long to try again. Use a fireteam you say... I had absolutely no interest in struggling my way through - never reaching the end in time, while some kid races ahead and completes the mission for me. Back in D1 I went into the Vault of Glass solo at various checkpoints, and practiced the jumps and the Gorgon maze over and over till I was good at it. There were no timers.... I even reached a point where I could lead VoG Heroic raids. Timers ruin that.

platforming isn't that hard

There ARE LFG groups. You can be specific. Nobody really cares if YOU didn't do the mission because of timers. Stop crying and either improve so you CAN, or find a new game that hands you ALL the content for no effort.
-
You should stop crying about others who express an opinion...
hands you ALL the content for no effort.
Who said that? I can make stuff up too... ;)
-
If you're good then there is no timer
-
Those missions were great and had a timer however the timer was probably the worst of it. Instead of fun it just increased stress. I still did em every week and yes it’s fun to get better but it would be more fun with at least a more forgiving timer. That way you take in the experience instead of blitzing through it like speed runners every time.
-
They weren't dope because mainly they were timed. I'd have played them over and over again for fun if they werent timed. Such a try hard trophy game, cool.
-
Whisper or zero hour didnot have any of the new modifiers though. It was merely learning the route with saving time where possible all while having a good loadout to clear adds quick. This boss phase esp for solo people can be chaotic and timer only devalues the experience in my opinion.
-
That Missions would have been even better without Timer too. It was the most complained thing about these Missions too. They should have made the Timer for Triumph only like in Nightmare Hunts. Faster and more Efficient sound more like things you need to do at your Job. People don't seem to play for simple fun anymore. It's a Game not a Job.

Wrong
-
I mind because the timer prevented me from finishing those cool missions. The only way you could get to the end is if you had a flawless run driven solely by luck. That's not fun, that's just annoying.
-
The timer didn't prevent you from clearing those missions, you did. If you can't complete a mission on a timer, chances are you messed up somewhere. It means you need to improve.
