Imagine: For years, a benevolent alien power knew that our planet was going to be invaded by hostile aliens. They aided in the creation of Destiny, supposedly a fun game... but actually a sophisticated training sim for when the invasion comes.
On 9-6-17, when we think Destiny 2 will drop? That's when the invasion arrives.
As a loyal Destiny player, you have been among those chosen to be empowered as a Guardian. But the catch is, your empowerment is not just based of your playstyle and experience, but also your personality. Do you have the loner nature of a hunter? The cerebral nature of a warlock? Or are you Titan-tough?
Note also that you only get one subclass, and it selects you based on who you are. Do you walk in the edge of the darkness, like a Voidwalker? Protect at all cost like a Defender? Or charge into the fray to administer up-close death, like Strikers or Bladedancers?
When the apocalypse comes, and find yourself facing it down with double fistfuls of light... what are you?
EDIT: Just so we're clear, you can be either a D1 or D2 subclass. Since D2 subclasses are newly discovered, they cannot be customized, so you're stuck with blocks of perks (like in the game).

Edited by Æpidius: 8/9/2017 4:24:58 PMI'd hope to be a Warlock. Not just for knowledge, but thirst for power, so I would probably be a Voidwalker.
Or just end up being a stubborn Bladedancer/Arcstrider.
Edited by micktheknife: 8/9/2017 4:13:11 PMStriker, no doubt.
A zealous few sneer at the legend of Six Fronts. Our invincible defense was a waste, they say. We should have charged.
[armory]Mark of the lost charge[/armory]

Edited by Wheatley: 8/9/2017 4:02:37 PMProbably a warlock. Not sure what subclass
-
1 ReplyIt would still be a hunter. I know me, and I am a hunter.
-
Voidwalker Warlock
-
Then FABULOUS you would be.
-
I'm a solo clever beast. So it could come down to which class has the most potential. I probably wouldn't charge into the fray without a plan so that would reduce my choices to warlock or hunter. Either i'd be a psychotic Warlock or a Hunter like Cayde, either way where is my money? and get off my boat!
-
No doubts about it. I'm a hunter till the end.
-
Edited by ElGuapo General: 8/9/2017 3:26:44 PMI would Definitely be a hunter. And subclass wise I'd probably be a gunslinger.
-
I'd definitely be a hunter
-
That...would be, AWESOME
-
I'm think my personality would fit a warlock and I would probably/hopefully be a voidwalker.
-
I'm a Titan main but based on my actual personality in real life, I'd likely be a Warlock though
-
2 RepliesAnd all the salty people will become vex.

11 RepliesI think this is a pretty cool idea. But, I don't think you can stuff everyone into one of nine different classes. That would probably need more classes for all the existing personalities. I don't think I could answer the question myself either. I have a very weird personality and I'm not sure if my personality would match my preferred Character Class (Defender Titan).

Warlock
-
Protect my family, home, and others in that order. Always has been my first sense whenever I dream of the end.
-
Nightstalker, cuz Im good team support and I like bows and arrows
-
1 ReplyDefender titan of course. Plus it goes along with the exquisite saint-14 helm.
-
Arcstrider with a bad knee and astigmatism that makes Red Dots look like deformed snowflakes. Gonna need a holographic sight for my Scathelocke, Banshee.
-
Bladedancer, cloaking to snipe from range, to revive allies, and then dive in in a flurry of slashes before dropping a grenade and hauling my squishy self back to cover.
-
I'm the button spamming striker playing mayhem. 😉 #nogunskill
-
1 ReplyNear Sighted Gunslinger.

Like the sorting hat at Hogwarts. Hmm, what do we have here? A little intellgence I see... and some creativity, yes, creativity. I wonder if you have the wit... yes, you are a warlock!

1 ReplyEdited by brian the psion: 8/9/2017 5:19:18 AMIf I became a warlock there would be some peeps on my sht list that would be consumed by the void. Also blinking around for the lulz so seeing myself in game like that would be one step closer lol.

while I see what you are saying here, the classes really do seem to choose the player based on play style etc. Sure, anyone can learn to play the different classes using the strengths and weaknesses of each however, most people will have one or two that really come far more naturally to them.
