Why are hunter knives tracking but not Titans hammer? That is so strange.
Just for one reason, that counts as a melee bath of them. So why is one tracking and the other not?

Funny enough the hammer DOES have tracking. But it's VERY bad tracking. It's so bad in fact players wanted it removed because it was messing up the trajectory and making it fly past enemies (It'd either track the wrong enemy or say the enemy was moving to the left the hammer would go further left than the enemy was going making it miss). It's a very mild tracking compared to the knives and tbh I'd either rather buff the tracking or remove it because the current hammer tracking is worse than the no tracking it had.

1 ReplyI've noticed some Titans whiffing their throwing hammers quite a bit. Hopefully Bungie does something to make them more consistent or rewarding. Maybe they could increase the damage to compensate for not having any headshot multiplier

2 RepliesAll arguments against fixing the hammer: “hunters need to be the best, bc we are the best and always have been the best”

3 RepliesThis is an extremely extremely old argument. Especially when hunter knifes can one shot you while bonk hammer just does mediocre damage. Sadly it’s just the way it is. I feel bad playing Titan now.

Because Hunters

Cause one is Titans' and one is Hunters'. Sounds cynical? No, just the truth. Delusional. I have nothing against Hunters being favoured by Bungie, it's finally their game and they need to keep (the rest) of their biggest player base satisfied. I can recall the times when the bold PvP Titan mains like Aztecross, Cammycakes, Frostbolt... ran exclusively Titan. And then there came a time when they all switched to Hunter. Ask yourself why.

2 RepliesCan’t you retrieve a hammer?

It may be the exotic or the TYPE of knife.

Bungie needs its thrown melee tax and Hunters are the PvP meta. Titans get to be Thor. Warlocks get to be the Wellock-Div/Tractor--blam!- 👍

Edited by Rainbine 9545: 4/11/2026 7:11:48 AMI can think for a few reasons but I think the best one is maybe it’s a pve thing See while throwing knives are good in PvP they have a exotic that buffs the tracking which can kinda mess with the results, but it could be due to how they made it have such a long animation to save frustration of missing, most of the time I’m in someone face when throwing a knife but I never did any long range stuff without the exotic Plus they also have some melee ones like caliban that is more proxy mind and the one with the beetle for void one is PvP and the other pve Titans also have an wide range of melee exotics, Wormgods, syntos, the one that can recall your hammer or the ones that boost shoulder charge so on and so forth I can understand the difference but warlocks also have tracking to in some ways, their lighting surge, solar melee and void melee all track to the nearest target quickly and does a decent amount of damage
