Servers were taken down by some asshat hackers, XBL is only just recovering, Bungie hasn't started recovering.
It's not Destiny's fault, it's Lizard Squad's fault.

The issue with your game is that you needed to reset it. Next time you have this issue force cancel the game by pressing the start button and hitting quit or by force restarting your Xbox.

I'm aware of the hackers. All other games are working for me. And as I've stated in the topic, my friend is playing it without a hitch.

All other games aren't Destiny. Just like CoD isn't Halo, or Fallout isn't Madden. If you think every game has the same mechanics, then <Insert petty internet insult here>.

The problem was that the game completely -blam!-ing broke for absolutely no reason for some people. And no -blam!-ing shit I'm comparing it to other games. It's the only one that would not launch. FROM THE DASHBOARD. I understand it not allowing me to go past the main menu, but freezing the dashboard isn't a -blam!-ing server error.

Yep. Destiny servers got screwed by xbl being down as well. So stuff like voice chat and matchmaking werent working right within destiny.

I could not start the game from the dashboard that is not servers I know Xbox live was down this was after.
