Getting 100 kills with void damage in the crucible is just way too difficult. You're supposed to be using special and heavy weapons that deal void damage, for which you need to find ammo around map, while having to deal with level 30s that are using the SUROS REGIME, Vex Mythoclast, Invective... I just puts you at a huge disadvantage over other players.... It would've been fine if you didn't lose points for being killed, then it would've been 'grindable' but this is just ridiculous.... It's impossible to do in such an unbalanced multiplayer, where everything and everybody is OP, except the players that arent that 'lucky' to get good exotics...
People like me, who don't have a lot of time on their hands, shouldn't be given this big of a disadvantage in the crucible.
Either remove the crucible part of the exotic bounties or make matchmaking based on skill and gear!
EDIT: I probably haven't stated it clearly, but I'd like to get some tips and advice on how to do this. I'm really having a lot of trouble completing this part...

I used a void shotgun and got it done in about 3 days (not playing crucible the entire time)
-
Use a fusion rifle, it's essentially a medium range shot gun. That's what I used to get it done.

Edited by ioxon: 10/14/2014 2:20:46 PMI trashed this bounty because of that 3rd step. I am one of those rarer breeds that truly suck balls at PvP. Once in a blue moon, I can get a game where I get K/D around 0.6 but 90% of the time I do around 0.3 on average. I play it a lot - knowing how bad I suck even - but I just literally cannot keep the 3rd step of this bounty above 20 points. As an example, I ran a couple matches where I got enough kills to get around 20 points of the 500 and then hit a match where I literally only got 1 kill the entire match and 15 deaths - lol. So, you see how it's literally impossible for me to get Thorn. I feel as though it's not fair for folks like myself to have a weapon bounty that is literally impossible while many others seem to be able to get through it just fine. If there was a way to take PvP lessons, I would probably do so. I'm sure I'm doing PvP all wrong or something. It's actually quite hilarious though in the greater scheme of things. I keep an eye on radar, get a kill, try and get away from that spot if I see more red and can't see players, get shot in the back 90% of the time and usually right after getting a kill (immediately actually). Then I proceed to get shot in the back or the face even sometimes 3 or 4 other times before my next kill. EDIT: I do want Thorn - especially knowing that it will be buffed soon - but it just seems so hopeless. :(

Edited by KingNikko5: 10/13/2014 3:22:19 AMHey man. Me and some buddies jumped in and played some skirmish together. Two of us had the bounty and were on the crucible part and we just used void weapons (obviously). Fortunately, I'm a warlock so my nades, melee, and super helped me out also. Not to mention, I would say I'm rather good at PvP. I ran either void sniper or (painfully) fusion rifle and void rocket launcher. My buddy had Atheon's epilogue so he mainly racked up his points with that and then used rockets when he could. It can be done in control as well but then you got more guys to worry about. And if you got a non communicative team you kinda get owned. Just remember to be patient and get more than a couple kills per life you get. And don't forget you have a primary. Use it to keep you alive in a pinch. Probably one of the most important aspects to help you in maintaining points. We ended up finishing that part of the bounty on the same match actually lol. Went in on the strike to kill Xyor and knocked that out. Piece of cake. Hope that helped a little.

If you can rush Well get a sidewinder shotgun. They usually have a perk that tightens spread when aiming down sight. This makes more one shot kills And does help out with headshots. At that point just keep your KD at 1 or higher And you will be OK.
-
S**t dude, I suck at PvP, it took weeks of grinding the fusion rifle for me to do this part. Get a good fusion with a fast charge rate, and pray to God, it's all about grinding. Yeah, takes forever But if thats killing you... LMAO... it only get worse, man. Then you have an impossible epic strike to do. And in the end, Purple Legendary Hand Cannons are better and do more damage. Bungie stated they would, int he future, buff Thorn and Bad Juju because Legendaries of the same weapon class are better, but until then, Thorn is a waste of time.
-
Get Atheon's Epilogue from the raid. AR with Void damage. Completed that section in 6 games. I ran Defender, primary, special and heavy all running void damage. Pretty easy.
-
Lol i finished that step of the bounty in like 1.5 hours maybe 2
-
Shiaaat...be happy u got one. I turn in 25 bounties a day and have nvr seen one...
-
I was frustrated with this bounty too at first and almost gave up. But I got The Comedian from the Vanguard and well, a couple of days later I had my Thorn. Running around shotty booming players is kinda fun, but limits the tactical side of things, and I hate camping. Stick with it dude. It's difficult and annoying, but if I can do it, and I'm strictly average in PvP, then so can you.

2 RepliesHave a secondary and heavy with void damage. Be a Titan or Warlock void class.
-
It took me a couple days, but ended up not being that bad. Find a good secondary with void damage and that is most of it. I found that a sniper with a minimal zoom scope worked best for me. Play on control and just work the people capping zones. Then a void HMG for your heavy, do not use rockets. A decent run with the HMG can net 3 kills, a good run can get 6+. The key for me was to not ignore my primary. I am better with my HC than most secondarys, so sometimes just using that to stay alive is the best bet. Honestly, it ended up not being that hard. Just takes time if you play fairly conservative manner. I don't mean camping, I mean picking your battles and sometimes running away if needed. Good luck.

1. find void sniper 2. snipe people is this so hard?
-
Need teammate for last requirement on this bounty. It's a level 26 version of summoning pits strike Message me on Xbox 360 if you're interested I'm a level 27 Titan

Edited by SoTKyle: 10/12/2014 11:23:15 PMI just went play rumble with a void fusion rifle and void machine gun, always small maps to one burst everyone you see with your fusion rifle, and just aim to get some heavy ammo when you can and moe everyone down. Finished that task in an hour and a half of grinding crucible
-
Camp in doorways with a void fusion rifle. Its cheap but it takes the pain out of it. I played control and just followed behind my team mates and got easy kills while the other team was shooting at them.
-
..... The easiest way to get this done if your not great in crucible is get 2 friends and do rumble hide somewhere on the edge of the map and have them come to you shot them in the face and rinse and repeat until your done. Takes about 6 ish games
-
Did it in a couple of hours. Grab a void fusion rifle and void heavy of your choice and stick to teammates if you're not confident in using a fusion rifle. Also t helped that I was a warlock.
-
I did the void challenge in ten clash matches with a void sniper rifle..... It just takes skill, crucible balances the players to a large degree. I went 20-3 with a level 13 Hunter using a lvl 6 uncommon Cydonia auto rifle....
-
I wish the other bounties were as tough as this one, or tougher. I liked the semi-challenge.
-
Atheon's Epilogue. I suck and I'm only able to grind away at this thing due to this gun. About halfway now. It'll be worth it?
-
As a Titan, use defender subclass (your grenades are void damage, and I'm not sure, but perhaps your melee might be considered it as well? I scrapped the thorn bounty. As a hunter without a void subclass, without a void primary, and without any real crucible experience, the curve was too steep for me...whereas both invective and bad juju were very reasonable. If I get Atheon's epilogue I'll give it another go.
-
I completed that part of the bounty in 5 games... literally. It's not hard. Just get a void shotgun and machinegun. For shotguns I would recommend the Black Chasma (blue) if you don't have a legendary void shotgun.
-
Just run and gun with a shotgun on small maps, or as others have said, do the raid and get the void auto rifle.
-
Took me just over an hour and a half to do the pvp. It's really easy Thou the last part the lvl 26 strike was hard
-
Finished this whole bounty in two hours. Get an Atheons Epilogue for the pvp part
