Destiny’s silent majority.

TL;DR just a friendly reminder that the folks on these forums giving feedback are actually in the minority of the total concurrent playerbase. Bungie will always prioritize the silent majority over us. Here’s the (really) long version:
I’ve seen lots of people throwing around feedback, and just as many people wondering why that feedback “isn’t accepted when 99% of us here agree with it” The fact is that the majority of relatively concurrent Destiny players (everyone from casuals to diehards) do not interact with any of the game’s social channels (including Reddit and the forums) whatsoever, and probably never will. Most of them aren’t here posting complaints. Sometimes that’s a good thing, sometimes it’s a bad thing. I’m not defending Bungie or anyone in particular. I’m just posting this to remind folks that get mad (sometimes reasonably so — no shade from me) at the lack of feedback being implemented when the fact of the matter is that we make up not even 40% of the active community. I’m not going to bother looking up the statistics on the playerbase cuz this vocal minority “phenomenon”, if you want to call it that, applies to pretty much the entire media industry (with some exceptions obviously) and has been a thing for a long time. It’s been exacerbated by social media, but it goes back all the way to the 1950’s. Those exceptions I mentioned? They take place in maybe 1 in 1,000 businesses. That means the statistical odds are over 1,000 to 1 that Bungie will never listen to us like they “listen” to that silent majority. You are quite literally yelling out into the void, and we have decades of media business practices to confirm this. Please, please, PLEASE do not waste your time here, for your own sake! Go play the game, go outside, enjoy life [insert some eat pray love BS here]. Just don’t spend it here getting mad.
alright, i’m gonna go back to complaining about vault space

 • That's correct; not everyone has time to go into detail like this. Even if this forum is a minority in terms of quantity, Bungie is monitoring Reddit, and there, it doesn't look much different. Destiny 2 isn't in a good position, not on a consolidated basis. And it's no novelty that if they aren't successful with The Final Shape, Sony will step over and take full control over them. While I don't like everything that comes with the game these days, I still like the core, and that keeps me going. I wish them luck! I always did, even if I think Bungie's management should be exchanged with people who have a vision and are passionate, not just economically oriented, like they are now. Sony is a great company, but it can also be brutal. They just streamlined and reduced the size of their studios - something like this could also happen to Bungie. There are already employees of theirs being hired by Sony. I've been playing this game since 2017 - for me, it's the best distraction from my daily routine. I appreciate that! It's been a wild ride, and it looks like it will continue like that.
