Anything that breaks should have some kind of visual health meter
Well, stasis turrets, child, etc
The players should be able to predict when their stuff is about to break

A very reasonable suggestion and they could also have an option to hide object health bars under gameplay options. They could use the square health bar that deep dive drills and ADU use to reduce clutter also. -
