Hello, it's been a while. I used to be somewhat active here some years ago, during the late D1 - early D2 days. I left these forums due to what I perceived to be rampant toxicity and vitriol directed towards those that played the game, simply for the enjoying a video game. Though I do still believe at least some of the discussions at the time were simply to bully people into no longer playing the game, the more civilized voices here previously warned me that I was doing nothing but feeding money to an institutional grift. I was warned over and over again that I was feeding and enabling a group of insatiable pigs that would use any means at their disposal to ensure their trough was always filled with green. To my eternal shame, I did not believe these people despite the mountain of evidence they provided me, despite the mountain of evidence in the game. I always told them that I just enjoyed the game, that I wanted to experience the universe that the game had created, that Bungie wasn't evil, but had simply made mistakes along the way. To all of those people: I am sorry. I was wrong, and you were right. I don't know if those that warned me are still around, probably not. But almost everything you warned me of came true. I am sorry I fed the grift for almost a decade, and I will never forgive myself for bringing others to get victimized as well. Thankfully they recognized what I could not and always left within a few months. It speaks to my lack of character that it took this for me to finally do the objectively correct thing. Even more so that it took the release of Lightfail for me to begin opening my eyes. Destiny and Bungie are both dead and have been for quite some time. I wish the best to those laid off, and hopefully, those that remain will quit as well to hurt the managers who made this game the grift it always was. I did not pre-order the Final Shape and I'm not going to. I am not going to spend another cent to feed the pigs anymore. Though I have always said I would stick with the franchise to the end, I can not do so in good conscience. My November 2014 Guardian will not slay the Witness. This will be my last post here, or anywhere else regarding Destiny and Bungie. I have much contemplating to do. To anyone reading this, have an awesome day.
