Just some feedback on the season so far:
1. The reward structure isn't just grindy, it's frustrating. The ketchcrash missions don't drop weapons, much less red-border weapons, frequently enough to feel rewarding after 10-15 mins of play. The expeditions require map resources and feel just as bad. I've played 4 weeks worth of activities across 3 characters and I don't have a single seasonal weapon crafted yet. That's just upsetting.
2. The war table is deliberately designed to extend the seasonal grind. Hidden Compartment is the "First ketchcrash rewards...". Oh, you did a ketchcrash in order to get the Repute needed to unlock it that week? Guess you have to wait until next week to cash in. Oh, looks like it's bugged this week, so let's extend that grind even further. And pray you get a red-border that you actually need because you can't focus your gun.
Seriously Bungie devs, this is past the point of acceptable for a seasonal grind. Find other ways to keep player engagement up. This path will lead to burnout just like Season of Arrivals caused.

3 RepliesI call this Season of the Awoken. After 4000+ hours of playing D2, I finally realized how much time I’ve wasted playing into the same formula Bungie has been using for years on the seasonal model. Something about this season made me finally snap. I hope you guys wake up too.

7 RepliesI haven't even bought plunder. Really the shotgun and scout are the things I'm really hurting for but. I haven't even touched the new raid. Or kingsfall yet. I haven't finished the simple missions from the hive ghost like two truths two lies Still haven't secured a whole lot of red border weapons. I'm barely over 1575. And this is coming from a daily player since D1 day 1. Sometimes a step back and treating it like a game is good for the mind

29 RepliesBungi only be paying attention to the players that play 30 hours a day; and these players dedicate their sad lives to video games. The extremely loud minority. These players like dedicating many hours for very little loot, because it would be too easy otherwise. Sad state of the game.

This game is so much better when you don't worry about every little feature. Red border craftable weapons? Yeah, I barely even use the ones I have made, why worry about grinding Bungies ridiculous grind for more? Sometimes you just have to find the fun on your own terms, and if your idea of fun is high maintenance, you might not find it.

Edited by Jet2Holiday: 9/23/2022 9:25:56 PMIt really boggles my mind how this game is still going, how much abuse this community tolerates. It's truly amazing. I am in awe.

1 ReplyAt least last season's loop was chaotic funny, the scythe really helped, also the chances of opulent keys. But now.... it's way beyond bad, almost offensive. Of course, it is cool, the concepts are good, the activities are.. ok.. they just need adjustments. But with Bungie saying anything about Ruffians, for example, is not only pretty bad but also a problem since week 1 of this new season. Twabs are always so quiet, like it's everything running smooth, so I doubt we will ever see they say a word about Ruffians, Red borders, weapons drop (remember when they buffed the drops on Wellspring?? It can be done). Sad.

S18 is the most boring season since Joker’s Wild.

3 RepliesJust don’t. We (player base) are not required to grind ad nauseam. The story is decent albeit too drawn out. The watered down poop is not new phenomenon for bungle. It is ok to take time away. The seasonal guns are lackluster and are not worth grinding for. The raid and touch are cool but old content. Take time away and go play any other game till next season or light fall.

Edited by Mark, Scholar of Stars: 9/22/2022 9:18:34 AMI lost my interest, because of the repetitive formula from the seasonal models. I'm still at the beginning of my season pass which would normally finished by now. I wish my interest would still be there, but Bungie's radical agenda since Beyond Light ruined my experience totally. I can't ignore what happened since then, even if they stopped with Sunsetting and the Destiny Content Vault. The worst thing are all those contradictions, like "building a viable future" (for example). I really can't imagine what mindset they have, about their customers, in relation of their treatment. I'm not mad. But it's like I can't count on them anymore, because of all these outliers they produce. It's just a game, $10 are not much for three months and Bungie, just to be fair, delivers (content), but playing always the same in a hinder mode can be a rough challenge. Maybe it's too rough; frustrating, for some. One more thing. I'm in graphic design, I adore the game art of Destiny. But - with all due respect dear colleagues - your modular design and economy is becoming a joke. And not a good one.

1 Replyi thought nothing can beat how bad season worthy and haunted but here we are, lmao

2 RepliesIt’s absolute garbage tbh. With the amount of grinding I’ve done, I should’ve at least been able to craft 1 of the seasonal guns but my highest is 3 out of 5 with the rest being 1 or 2. I’m a fan of a grind and have crafted almost everything of the past seasons (just missing fel bow and fixed odds). Unlike this season, previous seasons allowed me to grind like crazy and be rewarded for it. Now I feel I’m just wasting time so, I’m just going to stop playing and do something else. Bungie needs to realize too much grind will push people away.

2 RepliesSeason of the crybabies

1 ReplyMore like season of the waaaaaaambulance around these forums.

1 ReplyOh yeah ….trying to get a horror least with a decent roll ….4 nfs in a row no horror . Only had two drop today . Master NF should drop every couple at the most . Then to get 5 red borders …..as if 🤷🏼♂️😂

Have you taken the time to see all the other games that have been pouring into the storefronts? There’s too many better options than to be miserable in this one
-
The worst part is the upgrade that guarantees a red border at the end of your first ketch crash run isn't guaranteed to be a seasonal weapon. So unless that's a bug (really hoping) there is no way to guarantee a red border seasonal weapon unlike the past two seasons.
-
1 ReplyYou know what's funny, ther is still three more months of this lol ... have fun, I'll be playing the Assassin's Creed games on Game Pass.
-
2 RepliesYup, I don’t want to do a single more ketchcrash activity. Every week we have to grind the same activity, then talk to the spider, and the holo projector. There’s zero creativity this season.
-
Run master ketch, three chances at a weapon plus way more rank ups which means more chances at weapons. Focus the the engram the costs the 6 energy's after every two expeditions. I'm a casual player(10 hours a week) and I have 2 crafted, 1 scout and fusion, and 2 sidearms to go...not going to talk about the shotty.
-
5 RepliesYeah the red border drops suck, I've crafted a few now and getting close on the others. My main complaint is the frigging duplicate pinnacle drops. I've had 1580 weapons for 2 weeks because that's all I get. The last 4 King's fall runs I've done yielded 2 armor drops, 1 for 2 of the 3 characters. Why? Why can't they just add a little protection. I don't need 40 1580 weapons when I can't get the armor I need to max out. When you spend those hours working in the game to get those drops, especially from Preservation and grinding that stupid vox obscura champion run. That crap takes a lot of time just to see another weapon I don't need
-
I'm mostly tired of having to wait 9 weeks to fully upgrade the 3X5 gird. Just let me grind a few Star Chart resets and be done with it.
-
16 RepliesJust don’t do it. Seriously. Don’t do it and see how it makes you feel after a week. Only play what you want. Use the weapons you want. Just ignore all the grind.
-
6 RepliesWhen I read posts like these I ask myself why are so many people still playing when gaming is supposed to be fun? Presumably the vocal minority post here and the massive percentage of the player base is happy with the content and don't view it as an unnecessary grind. This post could apply to any season in Destiny.

1 ReplyEdited by Tis-but-a-scratch: 9/21/2022 10:23:22 PMUpvoted. Biggest point I agree with you about is the crafting. I’ve got a vault slap full of red borders and not even close to being able to craft anything. If nothing else just remove the cap on materials.

15 RepliesSo which season did you think was a rewarding grind?
