Arc Hunter Is SO BAD For PVP
The new super does 166 damage, the other super is slow and relies on hit detection. The Aspects/fragments are terrible. Even took a melee and turned it into an Aspect. Even Datto thinks Arc in general wont be used in end game pve. As bad as Arc Hunter is in pvp, it wont be used in end game pvp either.
I normally don't trash talk my favorite class, but this is so bad.

Edit: Some replies are laughing bc I used Dattos name. Majority of people in the replies actually agree and think a class about punching is terrible for end game pve. For pvp, it also looks like majority of people agree one super is to slow with melee hit detection depended. The other super cant 1 shot anything. Time it takes to get to those supers is pretty long as well. 10 mins for roaming, which you will rarely get in Trials, 8 mins on the other, which you might get, but is less effective then Tether.
Others are saying its great bc Blink. Blink did get buffed, however, the weapon ready speed did not. It still has a delay to pull out your weapons after you blink. Nowhere near like it was in d1 before the nerf. Rose tinted glasses for some of us.
My honest opinion, Arc Hunter is only for pve and up until Master level content. For pvp, the supers are to weak or take to long to get. Punching people isnt good unless it 1 shots. Bc you will either melee trade or get fusion/shotgun. Overall its a "fun" class but leave it at home when it comes to anything end game.
Edit 2: Dang this is getting a lot of downvotes, why? I dont downvote when Warlocks complain about their classes, I upvote so people will notice. Yall doin me dirty.

Yes and no. Yes in the sense that Gathering Storm can't one shot impact when you throw it directly into their face and no in the sense that spinny boy deflects everything including Gathering

2 RepliesWent into mayhem 4 minutes ago to test it out an it’s absolutely trash. I couldn’t kill anyone unless I got a direct hit with it, when you throw it at peoples feet they don’t die they just get pushed backwards after that a 3 second delayed aoe lightning chain will appear ticking for only 78 dmg. Like I said in my post this is unacceptable, if they’re going to give us a Zeus lighting bolt it needs to EXPLODE on impact not turn into a Witherhoard 3 seconds later.

As it stands, I'm not thinking of using it for PvP till at least all the fragments are out. That way I can build around grenades and should be able to do a crazy grenade build with the ionic traces. Probably will be decent for all of PvE as well. Got a few planned out, just need those fragments from (I assume) when the raid is completed. Going around zoom zoom blink blink punching things is not my style unless I'm on my titan. Though, some of the new weapons and their new perks, which are arguably built for arc 3.0, look pretty spicy for my solar builds. Glad Arc go reworked but for me personally, I'd rank it 4th out of all the choices. But then, Bungie would have to have launched Arc 3.0 ultra busted for it to replace Solar or Stasis or even void for my preferred choices. Still going to mess around with builds but *shrug*. Hopefully its great for those who enjoy that style.

No it's not. I was a d1 hunter main with arc sub and I gotta say, bringing blink back felt like the good old days and on top of that I'm able to play exactly like I do in d1 now.

2 RepliesI find Arc Hunter to be pretty fun. I’m just happy to have blink back. I wouldn’t call Arcstrider great for PvP but it’s definitely not bad. The melee hit registration just makes a lot of melee focused subclass feel kinda bad in PvP.

6 RepliesEdited by neonsox42: 8/24/2022 3:29:07 AMA good arc hunter is such a pain in PvP. Blink + dodge is such a pain after the ease of use buffs to blink. Both melees are solid, liars handshake is a meme until you fight someone who’s good with it, and Shinobu’s is really obnoxious with the jolt grenades fragment. In PvE arc was always going to suffer in endgame. The subclass about getting in close is going to suffer when doing so means you’re probably already dead. Hunter’s new super has some use due to its great damage and ability to deal with mobs around it. The rest of the arc 3.0 kit for endgame is basically spam jolt grenades as much as you can. Hunters use Shinobu’s (or lucky rapsberry if you like pain), Titans use Armamentarium with enhanced blinding, pulse, or storm nades, and warlocks go with Crown of Tempests. Surprisingly warlocks have the best kit for endgame due to having 2 aspects that can do stuff in endgame without needing to get close. Arc soul spam is nice, and ionic traces is just free ability energy. The only issue being the supers. Both need you to be out in the open for long periods of time w/o instakilling enemies. Overall Arc is going to be that subclass that’s amazing in anything that’s not master content or higher. Even in standard raids I could see all three having a place. The PvE issues are more problems with Bungie’s concept of difficulty and it conflicting with their vision for arc in general.

The very nature of the Arc Subclass is to get in the enemies face… You do that in an REAL endgame content and you are absolutely screwed! My friend and I did a 1600 Weekly Campaign mission tonight and I died in my damn Fist of Havoc… with the Eternal Warrior on (I was messing around)
