Gjallarhorn as it is in PvP is stronger than the Cataclysm Novabomb. It’s initial projectile is smaller and faster making it much easier to use and harder to avoid although the initial projectile of gjallarhorn doesn’t track it’s still better right off the bat.
Then looking at the projectiles themselves Gjallarhorn spawns way more projectiles and it’s projectiles are capable of kill equal if not more guardians than the cataclysms spawned projectiles. Not only that but the projectiles themselves are much faster from the gjallarhorn and on top of even that the projectiles are WAY better at tracking multiple targets.
The amount of times my cataclysm’s projectiles all went to the same guy only for him to outrun it or turn a single corner is unreal. In comparison the Gjallarhorn’s projectiles could easily track and kill three targets easily. The balance just isn’t there and I would much appreciate a fix to this. Specifically nerfing the damage of the projectiles spawned by the Gjallarhorn in PvP to the point where it can at MAX kill two guardians with the projectiles. Maybe a small buff to cataclysm as well, like if two projectiles are tracking one guy already the other two try to find a new target/prioritize a new one.

I mean, Nova Bomb is trash as a super anyway. Heck, Deathbringer's Dreadfall orbs have better tracking and Wardclif has a bigger blast radius. Heck, Lorentz Driver has a bigger and more powerful suck than Vortex nova. Aw, remember when Wardclif was considered the best pvp rocket... Heck, remember when Truth was the best pvp rocket? How the mighty have fallen. Bungie, time to buff all the exotic Rockets Launchers because quite frankly, they suck.

Edited by Astrosa: 4/21/2022 4:59:46 PMDon’t listen to him, do not buy ghorn from xur it’s a waste of strange coins and your heavy slot

Go figure a rocket launcher is strong 🤷♂️.

1 ReplyWhile I respect your views, personally I think it should remain an over the top HW. The issue is most players will not go to or guard the HW ammo point. Letting the other team get the heavy should have real impact/consequences. ps yesterday I was creamed by a number of players with Gjallarhorns(and yes I do not have one), frustrating yes but not unexpected as the teams I played more interested in their personal KDs.

1 ReplyOr how about when the opposite team pulls heavy , you just stay out of the way . It's really not that hard.
-
It's a heavy weapon. Its supposed to be strong. That's why ammo for it is so rigidly restricted. The solution to your problem is to NOT lose control of the heavy. So you don't have to face someone using it.
-
BRO ITS A HEAVY, OF COURSE ITS GOING TO BE GOOD. Here is a list of things to consider: - go for heavy before the enemy does - repeat step 1 - repeat step 2 - you can literally bait heavy if you know who has it - learn heavy spawns to make steps 1,2 and 3 easier
-
You most be joking. Maybe SBMM can fix the issues you obviously have 🙄

3 Repliesoh no a rocket launcher thats a ohk killed me I must go here and moan about it to get ti nerfed
-
4 RepliesSo now we are comparing supers to a RL?? You pvp players just want everything nerfed don't you?
-
It seems like the cataclysm projectiles track better than the hunter tornado (that may be hunter bias...). Gjallahorn also seems like its not quite as strong as when it first came out, but it really depends. It is still a really strong heavy so its one of those things that most people probably expected to eventually get a nerf anyway. If it does get taken down hopefully its not a vaulting level nerf.
-
5 RepliesIt's strong, but it's an exotic heavy, not really much to complain about in pvp, in gambit it is a problem, not in pvp. I would rather use something like chaperone, LoW or exotic hand cannon fot my exotic than heavy weapon. You probably didn't played in season 7, then Truth had 3 shots from heavy ammo brick
-
5 Replies2 words. Heavy weapon! If you don’t want them to get kills with ghorn, then don’t let them get heavy. Pretty simple.
-
2 RepliesEdited by Ghalta_Trial_X: 4/21/2022 3:47:45 PMI mean, they're giving up DMT, No Time To Explain, Ace of Spades, The Last Word, Lorentz Driver, Chaperone, and a slew of other good exotics that they could use in every gunfight versus one that they can only use when they grab the heavy ammo. Sounds like a fair trade-off.
-
6 RepliesThe forums never cease to amaze me. Heavy is meant to be strong, their is a reason why people don’t want others to get heavy. This is clearly a skill issue. Grab heavy from you opponents if you don’t want them killing you with gally.

1 Reply100% agree with you… But instead of nerfing it… I would rather want to see legendary rockets getting a huge buff to tracking (like it was in D1 where legendary rockets had very strong tracking trait or tracking perk). D2 tracking on legendary rockets is way too weak for pvp. There is so many special weapons that kill you so quickly and effectively… so having regular legendary rocket (even with tracking) feels like a disadvantage at times… Same with heavy machine guns… they feel like garbage in the current meta. Damage on all heavy machine guns is way too low.

7 RepliesMad cuz no Gjallarhorn.

8 RepliesEh you’re using crimson and crying about easy kills from heavy? Ok buddy.

6 RepliesEdited by Astrosa: 4/20/2022 8:52:56 PMWhy are you comparing two completely different things It’s not really a good way to compare Not saying ghorn isn’t good, something with tracking is always gonna be good in any pvp, but the comparisons ain’t great
