Last night in trials, my team and I went up against multiple teams of stasis hunters (go figure) running 100 discipline (53 sec cooldown) and spamming shatter. It killed our wells, our bubbles, and our roaming supers.
The reason I say to just delete/disable/rework them is because the premise behind shattering is flawed because they never even gave the warlock class a shatter ability. Titans can slide to shatter, fair, but is it abused to the same level? Clearly shatterdive is broken, I just think glacier grenades as a whole clearly favor one class over the others and that inbalance needs to be addressed at the source.

5 RepliesEdited by WulfPak666: 10/10/2021 6:58:42 PMBungie made this problem themselves. They essentially killed Duskfield and Cold snap to the point they're not worth using at all, unless you're a Hunter with the aspect that boosts their effects. Coldsnap has garbage tracking, is very slow and freezes you for what, half a second. Duskfield basically does nothing now except maybe give you a minor annoying if at all. Glacier grenade has massive potential all around. Block entire hallways, freeze people on contact, gives you damage reduction just for existing if you use the aspect, has extremely busted detonation damage, so much so that it's the ONLY stasis ability that can insta kill a Warlock in Well of Radiance. Hunter is the best class to use it with given the shatter dive. It's a move you can bust out of nowhere with no setup at all. You can instant kill supers or even wipe a team with a single press of a button. Heck, you don't even need to be up in the air to break the crystals. Titans have to run before they can shatter effectively and Warlocks can't shatter at all. Not only do you get damage reduction just for throwing it out, making it harder for people to kill you, but breaking the crystals also gives you a massive boost to grenade energy making you able to spam this crap endlessly. Then you add on to the fact Bungie gave hunters a fragment that undid all the nerfs they gave to the glacier and shatter combo by making the ice wall more compact and have a more focused damage cone and you get what we have now. And this is even AFTER Bungie nerfed this Combo and stasis in general at least 4-5 times overall. It's funny how Bungie can nerf Shadebinder 1 time and completely kill it, spending several months bringing it back, nerf Behemoth and downright make it unplayable in pvp (heck or PvE) unless you play a certain way, yet after all that, you can pick Revenant and do just about everything you could now when it launched expect freeze people with shurikens. 🤷

Ok we can get rid of shatterdive when titans and locks... -Lose their OHK melees -Have their speed nerfed since theyre faster than hunters -Have their super overshields removed since hunters dont have those either -Have their op exotics nerfed like dunemarchers and stag -Reduce time of titan shields to only 10 seconds since they can lock halls and doorways for 30 seconds -and many other things about titans and locks that will have needed adjustment for a long time Or, and i know this is a stretch, but yall could put down the shottys and get some guns skill rather than acting like youre allergic to range and then get mad because you get countered because your tactics are crap and you expect yoir shotty to be a free kill machine and want no one else to know how to jump 🤷♂️ i know its a stretch but hey, give it a shot, try some real gun skill and tactics and not that old school call of duty crap

Stasis was a mistake. The whole thing should be deleted. That grenade is problematic for sure.
-
Or just give all 3 classes the ability to shatterdive and let the crucible burn🤔
-
I do think the Warlocks turret also should be deleted. Went I against 3 of them, they were maxed out on discipline and throwing them turrets plus they were using crimsons and stag. To the point that teammates ragequit. they played so passively that there was no counter.

2 RepliesHas anyone seen goldenhunter yet? They are usually in these post justifying any broken hunter ability while also stating shoulder charge and handheld supernova are the best abilities in the game. Just waiting for that post 😂
-
Why delete them? They are pretty good!
-
2 RepliesThis game’s pvp will never be balanced, and will always have an element of contest-of-build-strength. Bungie is stringing all of you along by holding out the hope of anything different.
-
1 ReplyOr just play trials with a hunter
-
3 RepliesHow did stasis kill ur bubbles?
-
2 RepliesYou don’t see titans slide shattering because Behemoth is utterly worthless now!
-
1 Reply"Just shoot it, Fox" -Peppy Hare
Also, have you tried doing a barrel roll?
-
2 RepliesJust get rid of -blam!- stasis. It has RUINED the game of Destiny
-
4 RepliesEdited by Rivvvers: 10/10/2021 5:28:54 PMStasis is the worse thing to ever happen to crucible since Destiny began. remove stasis

Because Titans require a running start, the shatter damage isn’t as heavy as the shatter dive, hunters just need to jump a few inches off the ground, Titans slide doesn’t have an area affect itself but the hunter dive impact does, Titan animation is a longer than the hunters, and hunter dive can turn almost 360 while the Titan slide has a 30 degree angle to hit because you have to have forward momentum. Damage aside when it comes to shattering the glacier nade, hunters dive is far more superior….

1 ReplyYes, please get rid of the one thing the Behemoth subclass was supposed to be focused around.
-
At this point, remove the crucible!

7 RepliesShatterdive abuse ruins any sort of gunplay in small maps. I just played control with 4 shitterdive hunters on the opposing team on cauldron. Bungie, stasis is traaaaaash.
-
2 RepliesStasis hunters in general are becoming an annoyance
-
5 RepliesAh yes I remember when Hunters cried shoulder charge was OP because it one shot 1 person. It became a melee ability with a cool down but the moment anyone points out shatterdive Hunters say just git good
-
Just stopped by for more 🧂. 🍿🍿🍿
-
Tbh, they are pretty easy to grief with in pve. Everything from noobs throwing them in the way to people intentionally blocking doors in strikes or throwing them at the end of a launch hoop to wipe the entire team. I mean, you people are silly about the pvp thing. Warlock turrets are much more of a problem... but whatever.

LOL WAH BUNGIE PUT SOMETHING IN THE GAME THAT PUNISHES ME FOR CAMPING

Edited by DuBChiri2: 10/10/2021 4:57:20 PMI've been killed by shatterdive so many times it's not funny. Sometimes it's because I just pushed when I should have known better, but a vast majority is when the enemy is literally about to die, gets behind a corner, has the stupid aspect that makes glacier grenade BIGGER so missing it is even more unlikely, and then instantly dying. No other ability in the game has that kind of coverage or pressure it can place on another player. Shoulder charge one shots, but it's by far the riskiest one shot ability in the game. Handheld is super annoying, but it ONLY does damage, where as glacier shatter one shots supers and can be used to block off areas. Weighted knife is a bit tricky to use with how fast people move sometimes and so I definitely understand why it's one of the more rewarding abilities, but it's justifiable. Glacier is super easy, covers a stupid amount of area, blocks damage, and can kill anything besides well and bubble. Any hunter saying it's not a big deal is obviously not the most understanding of why it's so difficult to counter as other classes. The other classes don't have 2 built in burst movement abilities that can be used to trick enemies or evade the ground based grenade entirely. Warlocks have top tree dawnblade and so they can kind of get around it, but titans get obliterated because nobody uses catapult lift and they have no horizontal movement tools that can be consistently used for evasion from a stand still. Theres so much to factor into why glacier grenade is a pain, and theres so much to factor in to why a portion of the community thinks it's not a big deal. A highly mobile jump spamming hunter is gonna get around glacier no problem and I experienced it first hand. It's like how some titans said "just use behemoth to get around behemoth," which is the dumbest type of argument you can make. The only counter to a playstyle or weapon or ability shouldnt be itself.

10 RepliesGlacial wall grenades should work like Titan Incendiary grenades. The grenades should be thrown, have a delay, and then trigger and create the crystals. this would prevent the panic-Shatterdive that is so common and would promote more tactical thinking, as well as opening up counterplay for the glacial wall grenade. one of the big problems is that the glacial wall grenade has no counterplay compared to other grenades, you get frozen and you die. The only other grenade that is a 100% kill is Tripmine when used correctly, no other grenade can 1 shot a guardian without exotics, even stickies dont.

20 RepliesAbout time someone actually brings some valid points to the table. I usually troll with the "me angy bungie fix, me am good you bad" posts. Guys we did it... We found the diamond in the rough. Yeah shatterdive needs at least a snerf to its radius or maybe nerf the fragment that gives grenade energy because the only thing stopping hunters right now from spamming shatterdive more than they do now is the 5 second cool down because it takes ~2 seconds to get your grenade back assuming you have T8 Discipline and shatter all the glaciers. At T10 it might as well be instantaneous, and I know they nerfed the radius from 9 meters to ~6 meters but that's never stopped anyone. I feel the "fine tune" to shatterdive was a lazy fix so bungie could get the majority of us to shut up. Normally im not one to call something a "no skill gun" or "no skill ability" but when theres little you can do against shatterdive except maybe back up and hope they dont freeze you still or youre too close shatterdive is next to unescapable. Lets not forget how easy it is to actually take down supers too. Warlocks have to use their melee to freeze and then go smack them two more times to kill unless its a low damage reduction super like goldy. Titans have to slide into their DM's, now yes they all require 2 abilities but the difference is how frequently can each class do it. Warlocks would need high strength to get melee energy quickly or an exotic that gives 2 charges or extra melee energy. Titans only have to wait on their grenade and their slide is recharged by then and even then its only useful every once and a blue moon, hunters can just yeet and slam every 5 seconds and the only prerequisite to being able to shatterdive is being in the air. They could literally be 3 feet off the ground and be able to shatterdive where as titans have to run for a few seconds before they get the slide. Hunters get too much love with this combo and it can be and very much so is frustrating.
