I feel similar. I knew that this could happen, but I hoped that it wouldn't. I know technically we're paying for access to the expansions, not for the expansions themselves, but that's in the license agreement, not how Bungie advertises. It's TECHNICALLY fine, but as someone who has played for a few years it feels dishonest. I now feel as though paying Bungie is no longer investing in a game I love, but rather having cash squeezed out of me in a way that Bungie seems to not want to openly admit.
I may or may not buy Witchqueen. I haven't decided. But if any Bungie staff are reading this, I want to say that I love this game so, so much; I love the story, the visuals, the gameplay. I played music from Red War at my wedding, for goodness' sake. I don't feel the need to be appeased, I just want to not feel ripped off. More transparency in advertising (saying that we're buying a pass, not an expansion; giving a very general schedule as to when vaulted content is coming back; not advertising as free to play when most of the core game has been removed) would make me feel miles better.
As it is, although I still play the game I have had to warn multiple friends off getting started with it. I've had to tell them about the weird content removals and paywalls and that the free to play portion of the game is tiny, and for SOME reason that turns them off. I don't want them to get sucked in under a false impression, and they don't want that either.
Please, please, someone start doing better. So many veteran players are fine with pouring money into this game, so long as it's made very, very clear what we're paying for. It's the disingenuous money-grabbing vibe that's really getting to us.

Reject guardian Return to Tenno

lol XD I haven't decided whether to reject guardians yet, but I shall always return to the Tenno regardless :)

... there is no point when a season pass is represented as buying an expansion.

Edited by Mark, Scholar of Stars: 10/15/2021 12:11:36 PMI play since the release at Battle.net. It's a game, it's something you should not worry about, but it's the contrary. There's no constant, "anything" can be removed or changed.

Exactly! I wish more game companies would look at games like Warframe and see that they don't have to manipulate their players to make a profit! We really do value honesty.
