Make Whisper of the Worm relvant again.
Give it Anti-Barrier rounds inherently. Sure its not super creative but it would bring this beloved exotic back into use.

If they've nerfed similar guns twice in D1, you would think they would learn in D2. Nope. They rolled it out as if to bait you when it came out in D2. Then months later they nerfed ammo regen from the perk. Just like they did in D1. Three times they did this in the span of the game's franchise. You would think they've learned. Nope. It's bait and click manipulation. It's like the boy who cried wolf. Three strikes and you're out. No one would believe you. That's what happened here. I don't believe them anymore. They manipulate nostalgia to pad numbers because they lost millions of gamers when D2 launched. It was so bad even Forsaken didn't matter no matter how good it was. Even Activision left because numbers and maybe profit ain't sufficient anymore. So they come up with manipulated nostalgia tactics to bring you back to the grind. Some say it's a hamster wheel. Hamster Wheel game. Running in circles.

2 RepliesIt’s all in the encounters they make. Bungie has largely been favoring fast DPS phases or ones with awkward interruptions in between. These heavily favor high DPS weapons with smaller total damages. Whisper, Linears, and Machineguns have crazy total damages (+sword for close range). Atrax - Small window, Atheon - Small window, ect. Whisper needs a change, maybe make it so that the ammo is infinite but drastically reduce its reserves (down to like 9 total ammo). Others in this category: Darci - Reduce the damage and aim assist slightly and move it to special weapons. Acrius - have it’s damage be uniform as long as it’s in range and deal as much damage as a perfect crit or increase it’s precision multiplier. Wardcliff - reduce the boss damage penalty. Machine guns need an overall buff. Trace Rifles need more ammo. Ect… The meta has kinda stalled and a few are still back in the two primary meta. (Trace Rifles, Acrius, Colony, Worldline, Merciless)

4 RepliesI’ve always had this cool idea with Darci. The personal assistant-get your data on your enemies is a cool concept, but what if we left the damage how it is, (rather low), but made it so it could stun every champion? Keep your scope on the enemy for 10 seconds or so for the perk to go, then make it change its shot to a overload, unstoppable or barrier shot. Just a cool idea for a otherwise quite bland exotic I only use for fun in pvp

cool your jets and wait for a bit will ya ? if bungie starts to bring back every D1 raid every summer, just wait until we get crota back and you get to use the OG version of the gun

YES! Or increase the amount of bullets from 9 to around 18.

They should give it triple tap as an innate hidden perk. So that 1 round is thin air, and 2 are from reserves.

I feel that Whispered Breathing needs a rework. Maybe instead it procs after landing 3 precision shots and goes away if you miss or land a body shot.

Whisper is still highest total damage untill sleeper gets its buff.

Having the possibility to make progress the catalyst would also be great. I also think it needs some PVE damage buff or remove it from the heavy slot.

Bungie said they didn't want to design encounters around it. So instead of turning it from blackhammer to black spindle... They made it into whisper of the worm because the worm is embarrased to talk about it.

3 RepliesThe thing is this gun is perfect. But the encounters where you need sustained dps arent really in the game anymore. We need quick damage burst now. And even ln sustain dps phases like templar....the frikin cage ruins your whisper perk and you have to reload/wait to proc the perk again. The game evolved and whisper stayed in the old meta like many weapons.

Im gonna go one further and say give it Lasting Impression perk 😉 Land all shots sit back and watch the health bar tick away with each detonation👍
