Guys, there’s literally no reason we should still be hearing about the House of Devils. If you wanna adapt old strikes to D2, fine, but make it at least SOMEWHAT relevant to current events of D2. It feels like a massive disconnect from D2. Don’t make this a thing. It’s disappointing.

2 RepliesIt’s to bring some nostalgia to the game. That’s why they left the original dialogue.
nibbles crayon
They are a simulation, Zevala transmats us to a giant VR game

2 RepliesEdited by vitisku1: 4/14/2021 8:23:01 PMBy their nature, strikes are inherently disconnected from current events in the game after the first time you play it when it’s released. I find it strange you take issue with hearing about House of Devils but not with hearing dialogue from Cayde-6. I also find it much more egregious that the Cosmodrome was not updated in a single way to signify our pacification and reclamation of it. Edit: I read my post back and it sounded condescending and bit snarky. It wasn’t meant to be. I just mean that, of all the issues with narrative parity and the static nature of the game world in general, in that locations outside of scripted campaign missions/ locations don’t evolve to reflect narrative events, strikes are the least egregious, as they are not meant to be tied into the narrative. Especially considering that the D1 strikes were not added as narrative devices.

1 ReplyI mean. There are strikes from Early D2 that aren’t exactly relevant to current events either.
-
Strikes don't happen in game as such, we don't go every day to kill the same boss if you know what I mean..
-
We have D2 strikes where Cayde is our mission handler... Also the dialog is literally from the D1 strike. Do you not hear the difference in Zavala’s voice?
-
Actually it would be better if it wasn’t changed at all, meaning when we play it it’s actually a non-canon replay of the first time we did it. Bungie trying to adapt unvaulted content to fit the current canon makes it corny.

1 ReplyIt’s a lot worse in Fallen S.A.B.E.R., the dialogue just makes absolutely no sense. Like seriously the expansion where we met Rasputin face-to-face is so old now that it’s been removed from the game and yet the ghost is introducing us to him when we load in

Wait until VoG is released.

Edited by Tulukaruq907: 4/15/2021 4:46:42 AMMaking new dialogue is hard. And Cayde is still talking in at least 2 of the strikes.

Guys, there’s literally no reason we should still be hearing about the House of Devils.
Its almost like the devils are still a thing... As in they still roam the plaugands as devil splicers AND its talking about the backstory. The old story of sepiks prime and the devil's.
-
Or you can call this a flashback
stupid thought of mines.
-
3 RepliesTo make it worse, it’s Sepiks Redux playing during the strike.

I wouldn't mind House of Dust dissolving and returning to Fallen Houses with well hidden kells and protected prime servitors . . . Kells, Archons, and Primes used to be strike boss level at least! Now we literally kill them in patrol without a second thought . . . Wtf?
