Rng sucks
I've been a destiny player since D1 beta. I've collected every imaginable weapon or piece of gear. I've gathered every exotic the game has to offer and while the grind was fun and the friends made along the way made it better now everything has changed. With the release of beyond light came a new raid deep stone crypt. A new exotic emerged eyes of tomorrow while everyone i know has gotten it I dont have it yet. I have over 60 completions while I know the chances are once a week per character im 0-48 on actual chances. Ps the only exotic in the game im missing. While on the other hand I've already completed my dredgen guilded and probably lost twice as many games as I won and only recieved 1 bottom dollar with a garbage roll. Farmed the 1330 nightfall couple of weeks back did it 10 times 1 palindrome. To make things worse we carry a friend of ours to the raid and he gets it first clear. This game has definitely taken a toll on me and I feel burned out. Ill be taking a break from destiny until someone tells me eyes has become a guaranteed drop which we know won't happen. I HOPE SOMEONE ON BUNGIES SIDE READS THIS AND FIXES SOME RNG ISSUES FOR SOME VETRAN PLAYERS.

I feel no sympathy, I chased Mida all of d1 and never got it until d2 dropped. It is what it is.

I can relate I stopped chasing weapons that hard when d2 came out. I had maybe 40 completions on vault of glass not once did vex mythoclast drop. Not to mention how bad duplicate Pinnacle drops are. I also had maybe 40+ completions on crota and never was able to get the crux ether...

10 RepliesIf you genuinely enjoyed vanilla D1 like i did then idk how tf you have a problem with a low drop rate raid exotic. Hellòoooòoooo um vex? Gjallahorn? Literally even just getting any exotic drop from the world before they made it so much easier? Smh i miss when legendaries were actually something that took time to get and exotics were actually exotic, back when a whole fireteam would go nuts hyped over just 1 exotic for just 1 teammate because they were genuinely exciting. These days if bungie don't just hand people the damn gun everyone gets upset about it

Pitty that they don’t reintroduce strike specific loot. Seems now the force you into top tier nightfalls etc. But if you really are a D1 player you should know it’s all rng bro and it’s frustrating but very satisfying when you do get that drop, only issue is it might be a crap roll, that is the killer for me.

RNG keeps the game alive beyond casuals who will get their loot, stop playing and go back to warzone or fortnite anyway. This very mentality is why vanilla D2 was shit, because it just showered you in loot and you had everything way too fast. I hope Bungie ignores this post. Farming is a part of ARPG's longevity.

3 RepliesIf they don't want a steeper drop off, the loot problem must be addressed. Last season one of my friends spent over 6 hours before one of the new exotics dropped in a legendary lost sector. Between taking breaks and grinding, that's all day doing the same thing over and over and over. That is [i]way[/i] to much grind. That goes beyond the thrill of finally succeeding into the the feeling of, "oh thank god, it's finally over," and feeling like you don't want to touch the game again for at least a month. Not good.

Im doing the activities for pinnacles, and i always cringe because im always getting multiple pinnacle drops in the primary kinetic slot or multiple helmet pinnacle drops. That doesnt help me level up at all. It prolongs the grind for no reason, for yet again another week to earn pinnacle drops in the right place. What am i going to do with multiple pinnacles helmets for my titan? I dont have multiple titans for that. Weapons can be spread around through my characters, but armour i cannot if i have 3 different characters. Are you trying to make me create 3 different titans bungie? The RNG is so preditcable that everyone knows they wont get what they need. Worst crap shoot.

Yeah they should really replace rng. It always gives you a bad feeling after doing Activities. It's like unwanted christmas presents...you look forward to open them up until you fing an unwanted new pair so socks...🤣 Seriously last 3 Pinncales have been heavy weapons with the same level, that ruined every good feeling about doing the activity before. All you did is turn of the pc after the session with an bad feeling. Not sure if a company should want that for their customes...

RNG sucks all over because Bungie does nothing to mitigate the outliers. And they don't seem to know any better, RNG is so ingrained into their thinking process even levels are RNG. They even made exotics RNG recently, WTF!? Their go to is just slap some RNG on it, just look at this season's core playlist guns. The drop rate combined with the stupidly deep perk pool is just nuts.

I went almost a whole fricken year running strikes and NF's trying to get my Braytech RL for the Wayfarer title. I was so pissed that I no longer 'actively' pursue titles. In fact I intentionally stopped invading in Gambit so I would not get my last 4kill invasion for the Dredgen title (yes it was a 2yo temper tantrum gone wrong, yet!!!) 70+ runs before I got my EP shotty and oh wait it was sunset. Gave up running raids do to the time it often takes (I don't have that much concentrated time now a days) and the weapon drop rate just says FU to my face. So yea no Anarchy fro me. On the bright side its the only raid weapon I actually wish I had as I would actually use it. A LOT! Then there's the weekly pinnacles that I often spend weeks on trying to get that one piece of gear I need to reach the pinnacle cap. For instance a couple season back my Warlock and Hunter hit the cap with only a few weeks of yelling at certain activity drops. But for my Titan 8 weeks and no arms, that's all I needed 1 set of arms and never got them. Yes, yes I know you get more from the raids but I reassert what I said above about running raids.

Well, I’m not a fan of hc’s or shotguns but I’ve been after the strike playlist pulse rifle and have done endless strikes and haven’t seen a single one drop only hc’s and shotguns from past seasons. They should definitely rework rng. I realize the weapons you want shouldn’t be given away but the amount of useless crap you get from past seasons is really annoying.
