SOOOOO Cyberpunk?

So, I have not played it yet because I don't have next gen yet. I want to know is it worth it? Was it worth the wait. I think we waited since 2012 or something and I was about 14 or something. What do you guys think about the game. I'd like to point out the only clip i've seen are the glitches so I am aware of that, but other than that I know absolutely nothing about CP. Educate me!

    • I was discussing this the other day - it appears quite a bit has been cut in terms of the scale of what CDPR suggested or advertised the world would be like. That being said, I've been playing on the Series X and while the odd glitch and graphical issues has popped up - I'm still thoroughly enjoying the game. The primary story and side quests are fairly well done. The voice acting is pretty consistently solid and the visuals are impressive. Gunplay is very satisfying, and while the interaction level is low in the world, there seems to be enough content to offset the disappointment there. If you're on the fence, I'd definitely say wait until you can play it on nextgen, and maybe even wait for a possible digital sale. But me personally, I was very satisfied with my purchase while simultanously understanding the frustrations felt by many.

    • Idk how many patches they've released since the launch area, but I'd wait until it's in a stable condition to try it out on console

      • I'm on ps4 pro and am really enjoying it for the most part. I had planned on playing it on a ps5 but who knows when they'll actually be available again. I'd say if you're patient and or picky wait to get it on the next gen. Hopefully it will have a few more patches and such by then. If you're like me and on a ps4pro or xbox's equivelant and bored and don't mind some of the games textures loading in late in certain areas and the occasional crash I seem to get every 5 or so hours of straight gameplay, then grab it.

It’s okay. I never boarded the hype express so I can’t really comment about whether or not it was worth the wait. Personally, on a scale of 1-10, I’d give it a solid ‘sure’. The story’s cool, the gameplay is meh, and it looks pretty. It’s definitely a game.

Minister, please tell me the truth about Cyberpunk. Ninjas know best and are the ultimate arbitrators of truth. I need to know from a ninja and no one else if Cyberpunk is allowable

      • It is a game. That exists. I do not feel strongly about it one way or another. It, however, is also a buggy mess even after updates and hasn't gotten much better, if at all, on Xbox One.

      • I actually enjoy playing it, while it did not meet the standards everyone was expecting I loved the characters and world building. I expect patches to slowly fix the game but I do not blame developers for the poor release rather the investors and player base who rushed the release of itself.
Sips Tea
• It's fun to play but it doesn't live up to how CDPR marketed it and it also launched rushed at that as well for the Christmas monies. The story, characters and interactions are pretty good, but after that I can see issues with a lot of things. The quests do eventually get repetitive IE kill x target, place bug here, steal x item, hack into computer, etc etc. The mainline story is the only part safe from that but the side quests really are a downgrade compared to previous work by CDPR. The custimization is one aspect of the game that really sucks and it's one of the aspects that was marketed on a lot. They could use sliders on some things, more than 2 options for fing tattoos in a Cyberpunk themed game lol, and cars and weapon custimization was kind of expected really but it doesn't exist. You'll find a lot of repeats when it comes to weapons and clothes. The AI is bad, very very bad at that as well. The police system is broke, and the AI itself will shoot at places you're not. This one point will be debatable as I guess it depends on who you ask, but I myself don't think the game is as "open" as some will argue. I actually believe Cyberpunk can be more limiting than say FO4 for example, there's a lot of eye candy but you can't do much with them. Hell I even think some of what I've seen is cut content that will be added later on to be honest. There is stuff to do don't get me wrong, it can keep you busy for hours and hours, but the game isn't that good of an "RPG" to me, especially when it comes to multiple playthroughs. The lifepath origins for example get slight mentions but they're hardly relevant to the game, and street kid is the one the game probably works with the most. I do recommend it personally, however I'd just wait a while as they fix it because yes it has bugs, some funny and some just outright dumb as hell but they chose to launch it incomplete 🤷 so we gotta put up with that. Plus you can buy it cheaper once it's on sale 👍

It’s probably better to go in blind; extremely negative reviews from people who were sold a different game are warranted for the sake of shaming the publisher, but don’t do much for gamers who haven’t been following much and just want to know what it’s like. It works pretty smoothly on my xbone x, would definitely recommend as it’s a damn fun game all things considered. Exploring is fun, there’s a lot to do in the city, the gameplay is fun, the story is fun... it’s a lot of fun. Having said that it definitely isn’t a finished 2020 product really. This is obvious in the bugs and the fact that some of the game aspects feels quite dated, as if they have literally been developing this single game since 2012 bit by bit without updating things along the way. So you have fantastic graphics alongside NPCs who stand in the same spot making the same remarks every. single. time. you visit an area, which wouldn’t feel out of place in a PS2 game. Literally every single time I enter the player home complex the same announcement comes on about the weather over the weekend, and I’ve spent weeks of in-game time scuttling about doing quests and stuff. These things may seem pretty trivial, but they’re the things you notice after a while.

            • I have it on Series X and I've had fun playing it beneath all the bugs and stuff is a great game. I tweaked the hell out of the settings and turned film grain and such off and it is definitely playable the game actually looks "good" at some points.

              • The biggest thing I know as a warning/help is that the game was marketed as an rpg (as it is based on a table top roleplay game) for most of its life, then near its lengthy end was quietly rebranded as an action/adventure. I won't buy it, I may not have anyway, but I would be really bemused by a D&D game that said it was an rpg but turned out to be hack and slash without warning.

                • I had mine refunded due to the abysmal experience on Xbox one. The little story that I got to experience was good. My friend that beat the game maybe 10 days ago hasn't signed back into it yet so replayability may be small

                • I’m waiting for the free PS5 upgrade, and all ( or at least all the major ones ) the patches before I start playing it. I have a friend who played it for a bit ( also the PS4 version on PS5 ), and he said the game wasn’t as broken as reported, but it is/was overhyped. It’s still fun, but don’t go in expecting it to re-define games and gaming.

                • It's pretty good. Some of the bugs and glitches have been fixed. There's a few that still remain but it is now in a pretty playable state. Story is fairly good, plenty of activities in game to do. Worth buying.

                • The only thing that got me as far as I did before quitting was the nostalgia for the tabletop. The game has some great nods and references to the source material are plenty. But overall, I think the game is pretty bland. Te story, characters and quests are okay, but they aren't particularly memorable, innovative or morally challenging. The world is reaaaalllly good to look at, but I found it was nothing more than a loading screen to the next mission. Overall not a bad game in my opinion, but meh... Whatever.
