I've been getting some pretty low FPS for the hardware that I have paid for. On earth, I'm getting FPS in some areas that are lower than 60FPS. Changing the settings from low to ultra make about a 1-2% difference at most. During those low framerates, I'm seeing in the metrics that my GPU usage is around 50% and my GPU usage is around 40%. My target frame rate is 144 fps since I have built my computer with that in mind, so I am not aiming for a 60 fps experience or lower. Here are the steps that I have followed for reference:

"1. Verify the integrity of your game files in the Steam app.
2. Remove your CVARS.xml file.
3. Try lowering your graphics settings, capping your FPS, lowering your FOV, and changing your Window Mode to Windowed.
4. Turn VSYNC on and/or off.
5. Lower the clockspeed of your GPU.
6. Lower your hz on your monitor.
7. Remove the Windows Gamebar.
8. Edit your Radeon Gaming Settings and Shader Cache if you use a AMD Radeon card or Reset/Optimize your game's graphic settings if you use NVIDIA GeForge Experience
9. Check your CPU cooler/fan to see if it's having issues or needs an update.
10. Manually specify that Destiny 2 should use your GPU in your PC Graphic Settings.
11. Go into Windows Audio Settings and change it to 16 bit, 44100 Hz (CD Quality).
12. Use your laptop's Power cable."
"OS and Driver Updates: For the best experience, we recommend that players ensure that they have accepted all updates to their OS and drivers. If players believe they are encountering issues with Destiny 2 on PC, they should ensure that their PC software is up to date.
Clearing Steam Download Cache: Players who encounter issues with Steam or Destiny 2 should also try clearing their Steam download cache. For instructions, please see Valve’s Clear Download Cache knowledgebase article.
Windows Defender: Destiny 2 players on PC may encounter an issue where Windows Defender incorrectly detects specific Destiny 2 files as infected with malware when performing a scan. Players who encounter this issue should update their virus definitions. For more information, please see our Windows Defender knoweldgebase article.
CVARS Troubleshooting: When encountering configuration issues in Destiny 2, it is recommended that players delete their existing CVARS.xml file. This file can be found in: \Users\USER_NAME\Appdata\Roaming\Bungie\DestinyPC\prefs\"
I've also tried disabling HPET, which didn't seem to have helped at all (it's back on now).
None of these steps seem to be working for me unfortunately and they make no difference in performance for me.

destiny 2 developers team and amd radeon really never get agree, and dont give a fk about us, so i buy shadow keep and then, i turn my wallet to other games, because is really a pain for mi machine (ryzen 3600 radeon 5700 xt 16gb 3200mhz) to see 60 fps on a game that is like 5 years old and look like crap compared to bfv and cod mw that run stable 100+ fps https://photos.app.goo.gl/Ybv9xGuBNUPnpnSs7 so since we never get answers i tell u man that do the same find other games this is not only on AMD look NVIDIA GPU too https://youtu.be/LA0XBSTuZUc

Edited by TPS: 8/15/2020 3:44:32 PMim having the same problems in 240. i made a post as well. capped at 240 in orbit and start matchmaking and it dips to 140-150ish until im in the match. in the EDZ with nothing going on and moving around and turn towards the inner of the map and it dips to lows as 130ish ... i tried i few of those steps as well and nothing. its just this game thats doing it too. when i turn and move around in warzone, rogue company, it dosnt dip like that as bad. maybe 20 or 30 but were talking almost 100 in my case. i need real solution or i just wont play anymore.

6 RepliesIts your cpu. Destiny is cpu heavy no gpu will get you 144fps with a 2600.
-
8 RepliesVideo drivers that you are using? What are the areas where you see the FPS dip below 60 Fps the most?

1 ReplyEdited by Martiis: 8/3/2020 12:47:45 PMDownload ddu, and do a clean driver install. Low utilization, specifically cpu, is typically a good thing. But your gpu usage is rather low, which is why I think it's probably a driver issue. Edit. Also. Make sure you're playing in fullscreen. Sometimes windows or borderless windows will lock you to 60.
