“Alright.....” Blaze steps inside. “Hopefully we can stop this!”

He shuts the door, and the machine begins to rumble, and shake. Everything goes black, and then the next thing you know, you're tumbling out of a supply closet, and onto the dirt. A woman looks down at you, and rests a wrench on her shoulder. "Uh, hey there!" She says. "You don't look like one of the Egrets. Civilians are advised to stay in the safe zone.. And even if you are one of us, please don't go rooting around in my closet. There are a lot of dangerous parts in there, understand?"
-
Blaze picks himself up with his cane. “Look, I’m not a civilian, and trust me, I won’t go into a closet afain.”
-
"I'll admit, you do look familiar.." The woman puts her hand on her chin. "Now hold up! I've seen you in the Egret database before! What was it..?" She turns around, and walks into a small makeshift stall, surrounded by all sorts of banged up machines. She begins scrolling through a computer, until standing up straight with a loud. "Aha! Molly inducted you into the Black Egrets years ago, looks like! Blaze, right? Sure took your time rallying with the rest of us." She laughed. "Don't think we've met. I'm Roxanne, chief engineer of the Black Egrets. Both, before, and after everything went to hell."
-
“Nice to meet you. I’m Blaze, as shown on that. Actually.....does it say anything like ‘Dead’ by my name?” Blaze stretches.
-
"Well, it does say you're missing. As terrible as it is, we haven't really been able to recover bodies, so we haven't exactly been keeping tracking of the deceased. Kind of a weird question to ask, though; you're standing right there, ain't'cha? Don't look dead to me."
-
“There’s no way I jumped ship, right?” Blaze mutters. “Oh, right. I have come from the past to stop this from happening.”
-
"Well, to be honest, after Molly brought you in, you kinda vanished from our records almost completely. Whatever happened to you in the timespan between then, and now, I have no idea. I wouldn't be surprised if Parasoul had some records on what you might've been doing, but.. Well, you know."
-
“Who’s Parasoul?” Blaze asks, confused.
-
"Heh, you're.. Joking, right? Princess Parasoul? She used to rule over the Canopy Kingdom, the Black Egrets are her elite military force. Molly really didn't tell you anything, did she? I guess.. It doesn't really matter, now. The Canopy Kingdom is gone, and.. So is the princess.. Annie's in charge of us, now. Took the lead pretty quickly when the meowchines attacked."
-
“Wait...... the meowchines?” Blaze asks, even more confused.
-
"Sorry, that's just what we've taken to calling them. If you haven't been with us here, you've probably got your own name for them. But if you're here, I assume that means you're ready to join the fight, right?"
-
“Yeah, ready as I’ll ever be.”
-
"Great! You should find Annie, then. She looks like a kid, but she's probably the oldest person here. Green dress, green hair, big sword, and an eyepatch. Should stick out like a sore thumb. She's in charge of the resistance. I'm sure she'll have something for you to do. And, if you ever need anything repaired, I'm the girl to ask!"
-
“Right. I’ll come to you if I break anything!” Blaze looks for Annie
-
Looking around the camp, everything seems to be in pretty rough shape. There were hardly any buildings standing, and the ones that were looked about ready to collapse. Most of the structures in the camp, however, were crudely built tents, filled with weary eyed soldiers. The entire place had an air of misery about it. Except, for one spot, where there seemed to be a shining beacon of hope. A girl that matched Roxanne's description, standing up on a stage, giving a speech to a crowd of soldiers.
-
Blaze walks over, his cane thumping aloung the way. “Hello? Are you Annie?”
-
She holds out her hand, with her finger upraised, so as to say "hold on a sec". She held up her sword into the air and cried out. "And we will never, ever give up!" The blade let out a bright beam of light, and the crowd began to cheer. She stepped offstage, and sat down on one of the steps. "Yeah, I'm Annie. And, I can't say I recognize you." She sighed. "I hope I'm wrong when I say this, but that probably means Isaac sent you, didn't he?"
-
“Yup, he sent me from the past. Neat sword trick.”
-
"Darn it, that means you're part of Project Aeon which means we.." She sighed. "Yeah, nothing gets a crowd hopeful like bright shining lights. It's hard to keep morale high with all that's going on, but I'm trying to do what I can."
-
“Well, hopefully I can get that morale higher.”
-
"I hope so, too. As a matter of fact, I think I've got a great first mission for you. I have a contact out in the desert who said she's found something big. I was about to send a team out to go check it out, how about you head out with them? See what's up?"
-
“Sounds like fun! Can I get directions?”
-
"Follow me." Annie said, leading you to a helicopter, with a small group of people standing out front. "This is your team for the foreseeable future." She said. First, she pointed to an absolutely massive man, with a tank (A TANK) mounted on his arm. "That's Panzerfaust. He likes to punch things." "Panzerfaust is happy to meet you!" "Those two are Hive and Leduc. Used to be part of the ASG labs." She pointed to a woman in bee-themed armor who nodded at you, and a man who was mostly mechanical wearing a white apron, who waved. "And finally, that's Molly. She's technically a communications officer, but she'll also be your pilot for now." A familiar looking woman stuck her head out of the pilot's seat. "Hi!"
-
“Hey Molly. And hello new team!”
-
"Oh, Molly, does this guy know you?" Leduc asked. "Of course he does!" Molly said. "I'm the one who inducted him into the Black Egrets!" "Well, then he zzzure took hizzz time getting here. Not very punctual." Hive said. "Now, now, we are all friends here! Let's safe our hate for the meowchines!" Panzerfaust said loudly.
