I really dont understand why so many people think this way. It makes as much sense as saying you cant possibly know how to cook unless you cook for a living. Like it isnt something you cant learn, practice, or be taught unless your job title happens to be "chef".
1) civilians can totally get firearm training. Theres no reason they cant. I dont know how else to say it. It's that simple.
If you dont believe me, tell me what state you live in and we'll find you some gun classes in your state. Guarantee all I'm gonna have to do is google "your state" + "firearm classes" and I'll find a bazillion options.
2) "but eccho, soldiers and police officers also have to go through background checks and such". And? Civilians can do that too.
If you dont believe me this thing called a 4473 form would like a word with you.
I hear crap like "only the police/soldiers can/should have guns" all the time and there's no logical reason for it.
If you think police officers and soldiers can/should have guns because they're "trained" advocating for training makes a lot more sense than saying "well gee they just cant do it period".

67 RepliesMakes more sense for police to be armed and citizens not than vice versa. Why is that? Training and responsibility.
