  • Um... you do realize strike bosses go down in like 5 seconds 99% of the time, right? Even in 980 Ordeals, bosses are an easy burn. Every single raid boss is a pretty easy 1 phase, and even at the worst they never go beyond 2. Gambit bosses die instantly. Reckoning bosses go down fast. Pretty much nothing in this game is spongy.

  • That was my point regarding strikes. The rest are literal rocks you have to chip away at, some even have hard-coded damage limits... So much fun and accomplishment.

  • You’ve got nothing supporting your position, considering everything in the game is demonstrably easy to annihilate. The meta DPS loadouts melt literally everything. Even [i][b]decent[/b][/i] loadouts make short work of the “spongy” enemies that the game has to offer. As I said, there is nothing suggesting that spongy “rocks” are a part of the game’s design.

  • Only the damage dealing weapon perks nerf, multiplier damage changes and the directors cut part x out of 3 where Bungie states what their vision of a meaningful encounter is (giving halo as an example). When I'll get a boss that doesn't sit like a rock and farts me away when I get too close like all the rest.. I'll agree with you.

    And despite all that, everything in the game is very simple And quick to kill. Funny how that works.

  • Yes, when they all sit on their ass in one spot. Probably the only thing we agree on.

  • Whether bosses are antsy or not, nothing in the game has the health to deal with the DPS a lot of loadouts are capable of.

  • Regardless, where's the fun in chipping away at a boss after the x amount of doing so. They're bullet sponges but not necessarily hard since all they do is sit in one spot or at best charge in a straight line at you... Or run away in a straight line from you. Only way Bungie knows to make such encounters meaningful is by giving them more health. Higher difficulty level, higher health pool, slow clap.
