I know this is an old topic but it's one I still think is 100% true, and 100% still needs to happen.
Earlier today I was roaming the grounds of the EDZ to wrap up the "A Brilliant Smile" Triumph and my brain randomly jumped back to the arms dealer quest and the visit to Cosmodrome. Well this lead me to a walk down memory lane, not actually going back to D1, but just thinking about Old Russia, D1, how much I miss the map, and how much D2 really needs to bring back these old friends. Old Russia including the Cosmodrome are one of the of the more iconic locations in Destiny 1. This being due to how much time we spent there, especially since we went back during the Rise of Iron DLC, and because it was really where our whole story began. D2 could benefit so much if we got to in a matter of speaking return home. And of course we still have yet to see the Siva Return which was personally one of my favorite enemies in D1. Then there's of course Venus our first developing machine world and the Dreadnought which as far as I know is still floating somewhere in the rings of Saturn.
I know I'm a D1 vet missing the old days here but at the same time I'm a D2 player who's wanting D2 to stand tall next to the legend of it's predecessor.

2 RepliesId be ok if they gutted every strike boss and added all the D1 strike bosses. None of the D2 bosses are very memorable.

8 RepliesEdited by TheShadow-cali: 11/17/2019 6:09:55 PMNope, it needs this company to get their act together and update this game properly before any more content is added, that that would be a pure waste of time and resources knowing the planets we have now are literally dead. I get wanting certain things especially knowing D1 is the better game in every aspect of Destiny. It actually made me at least feel more connected to the game. D2 is all over the damn place that it's a HUGE MESS right now.

I wanna see a quest about the hive stealing touch of malice, taking it to tje dreadnaught and trying to bring oryx back
-
i would like venus back
-
I'm just amazed they went to all that trouble to re-do part of the Cosmodrome for the Risk/Reward mission and Cryptarch quest lines... and then it's never seen again. I guess they just want it for yearly events. Sadly, there's plenty of areas (in all locations) that are so nicely developed but never used after the initial missions.

I want Venus back!
-
Well, if we're dreaming, I'd rather them bring back and replace Thundercrash with my original Fist of Havoc and also give me the option to choose the way I want to play my Titan vs. this fixed subclass BS. Seriously though, I finally had to delete D1 off the old hard drive for space reasons recently. While I think D2 has more playable content, especially for the solo and 3 man/small clans, especially in the last six months or so, I still have/had more FUN playing my Titan in D1 than D2.

Edited by vmondude: 11/18/2019 5:48:32 PMD2 need a touch of get the hell on with D3 and abandon this mess

4 Repliesand then people complain when we get the moon back, saying that they just recycled the content.
-
8 RepliesWhy do people not want new stuff?
-
1 ReplyLol, as soon as they bring some other older D1 place back players will reeeeee!!!! again. I can see it, "Why I a have to pay for old content", "Bungo you're so lazy","ahhh more reskin contern".
-
The main reason this won't happen is because it is very hard to add all of those things back to a game as massive as D2. Activision was also the other reason that this won't happen. Bungie wanted destiny 2 to be an expansion of D1 and fulfill their idea of an ever-changing and developing world but Activision was like ha ha no we want money so make a new game that gives us money.
-
If they put ledge grab and class abilities into D1 I'd go back a replay the whole thing.
-
No d2 needs to keep expanding the universe not going backwards
-
But they won’t. It took $5 shy of forsaken to get the moon back lol.

No offense, but You realize this game is d2, not d1. While some aspects of d1's integrity and fame should go over, if this game had that much of d1 in it, then this game would never be d2. Just a almost pointless remaster, in simalar fasion to bethesda milking skyrim dry. Yes a lot of things over time have struggled to give this game a form of "originality". That doesn't mean we need another d1. Just d2 to keep the genarically good sides of d1, but to improve on the bad sides it had. That's what. Turns a game into its own identity, while keeping the integrity of its ongoing franchise.
-
I think that d2 is better than d1 but I agree that there needs more recycled content
-
I would love to see the old areas come back. Sure it would be recycled but it would allow them to add lots of content with little investment. Hopefully they would use the extra time to focus on making new guns and activities.
-
the more people ask for D1 content in D2 the more Bungie sells us the same content over and over again.
-
D2 was just one big mistake after another. And there is no coming back. Bungie is a shell of its former self and will never be what it once was. Like most of the players I used to roll with in the world of Destiny - I have moved on. The only thing worthy of retaining is the community here - the game itself is trash.
-
Load up D1 and you're all set. It's a better game anyhow.
-
6 RepliesI'm calling Bungie employee planting this thread and that it's going to be the next release
-
D2 needs a need studio and no Luke Smith.
-
3 RepliesGo play D1 if you wanna play in those spots again. People don’t want reprised locations, they want new ones. We got the entire moon back plus a few extra places.

I still remember the absolute pandemonium it was when you walked into the Skywatch and the enemies were clashing against each other, Urzok was ripping Kinderguardians a new one for touching his Warsat, and the Taken were spreading like the Amazon fires.
