Here's why:
●the perk:
Trench barrel. This is the only weapon in the game that has this perk, and frankly it's overpowered.
●It's overpowered:
In perspective...
In gambit, say that the shotgun does 2000 damage per hit without the trench barrel buff.
With the trench barrel buff, that's x2 so 4000 damage.
Then you have 4 guardians... 16000 damage.
Then there are 8 bullets in the magazine... 96,000 damage.
Then there is well of radiance and lunafaction boots... adding up to a total of more than 100,000 damage!!!
And that amount of damage is EXECUTED...
In 3 seconds.
Excuse me what the PHUCK?! (insert vault boy meme here)
It could be made exotic
EDIT* Just to clarify, I am NOT asking for a nerf. I am stating that this weapon is one powerful motherf**ker and thus could do with an updated status

1 ReplyMaking it an exotic would be nerfing it, as it strips its ability to be used with another exotic. And if you’re really having issues dealing with that in gambit, I think you just need to get better at gambit. It’s very easy to avoid getting killed by that. Just don’t get close to the invader. Done

8 RepliesSo it begins....now that Sleeper is getting a change let's attack the next weapon.
-
Hell no, you want to use it feel free. Unlike sleeper this gun doesn't break the pvp side of gambit, there's nothing wrong with feeling strong against ai

2 RepliesYou're just now finding out this gun is strong? It's only been out for months now.
-
Edited by RingersCheckmate: 10/2/2018 4:25:19 PMI think it’s fine. It’s short burst DPS up close. Also remember for maximum damage your pellets all have to hit a bosses crit spot, which won’t happen every single shot you fire. Also, trench barrel is just a 50% buff
-
Trench barrel is nothing but a reverse copy of a destiny 1 perk. I believe that it gave you bonus melee damage from causing damage with your equipped weapon. I had this perk on a couple of shotguns.
-
5 RepliesIt's a great legendary weapon but requires high risk/high reward to use up close. It was "end game" content in the last expansion and players without forsaken can still get it. Nerfing it would ruin a unique end-game weapon and serve no purpose. As people achieve their "god rolls" on random weapons and more exotics drop it will get outclassed. You just see it a lot now, because a lot of people have it and it has fixed perks that are good. There will a new meta that replaces it. No need to nerf it.

3 RepliesI love it. https://xboxclips.com/GodLordPaddock/725fb335-e2b5-49c6-9dc5-1f0083e24ac4

5 RepliesSo a gun that was already been nerfed... to prevent its bs damage output in raids and ep .... That is also locked behind an endgame activity ..... should be nerfed again .... because it does "to much damage" Have you even listened to bungie since may? No nerfs unless the need is dire, and let me tell ya there are far less people with this gun then say sleeper or acrius (at full power) Im sorry but as an endgame item IT HAS TO BE BS POWERFUL Just like all these other endgame items SLEEPER > POWERFUL ACE OF SPADES >POWERFUL (DO I EVEN HAVE TO MENTION THE ONE EYED MASK) WHISPER >POWERFUL ACRIUS > POWERFUL REDRIX > POWERFUL LUNA'S HOWL > POWERFUL Why should items that people had to work their asses off to get be nerfed more because A someone on the enemy team had it and melted their primevil with it or B because your salty ass doesn't have it The gun is able to do that much damage because in order TO DO IT your ass needs to get danger close AF to whatever boss your giving the damn business to, if you arent even within damn stomping distance of the boss you don't do nearly as much damage. Its a high risk and high reward type of gun. Also its damage capability HAS ALREADY BEEN CUT IN HALF due to its damage being locked to SOLAR

12 RepliesIts not overpowered. It is a PERFORMANCE-based bonus to the damage....and requires high-risk (getting into melee range of boss-level enemies who all can do massive damage at that range), and precise timing (you have to melee them in a fashion that avoids the KNOCKBACK mechanic that all Destiny bosses have). It is a weapon with a fixed set of perks that is available to everyone. You just have to grind Escalation Protocol to get it....and Bungie is supporting people playing it by having a number of triumphs depending on it, as well as clan bounties. Stop complaining and go get your own.

How to get muted....

3 RepliesCrying about a PvE weapon 🤣🤣🤣
-
you've waited since may to post this? Seriously. I've seen no one but you cry about it.
-
2 RepliesThe melee activation is wonky and it’s silly to see a group run up, melee and then get stomped away. I use it as it is my best secondary but want the ep sniper for those pesky stomp happy bosses lol do I care if it’s op? Nope. I do care however if it’s fun and ep shotgun is fun.
-
4 RepliesEdited by Jio: 10/2/2018 3:25:50 PMThe weapon reminds me of the orginal Black Hammer except it doesn't refund ammo back into the magazine if you activate Trench Barrel. If you could fire it endlessly without ever running out of ammo, it would need to be exotic It's a risk reward weapon that's quite a bit of fun to use, and rather than nerfing it, there should be more legendary weapons like it. The Blind Well offered no unique weapons, and that's just a shame imo.
-
Clearly OP is asking for Bungie to nerf fusion rifles
-
4 RepliesOh for fcks sake! Seriously!? For the sake of everyone reading this whine post and for you, please just stop!
-
2 RepliesThis whole post is a shitshow. Weapon doesn’t need a nerf, it’s just a shotty with a good perk. But goddamn, people are saying this weapon is a high risk? Yeah sure. Stager rate with a punch followed up by emptying the mag makes it so that you can empty all your bullets into a boss before they unstagger. Like i get that a lot of these people are smart enough to see this weapon shouldn’t be nerfed, it isn’t the highest dps gun anymore, i think it might even be out of the top 5. Whatever, but Jesus Christ, please don’t say this weapon is high risk, it’s not.

3 RepliesEdited by Helljumper RUSS: 10/2/2018 10:17:14 AMIt's like Black Hammer in D1: ridiculously powerful and able to obliterate bosses with ease, despite being a Legendary weapon. The difference this time is that the shotgun is more easily obtainable because it's found in EP, a properly working public event, whereas Black Hammer was in the buggy, unreliable raid that was Crota's End. Definitely needs some tweaking, maybe made into an Exotic, or maybe just moved to the Heavy Slot alongside Acrius.
-
You are probably the only one on this forum that thinks this way. All because you are too unlucky or lazy to grind for it.
-
1 ReplyYou need to lay off the Alkane dust.
-
4 RepliesHuh an other crybaby complaining about something that he never get??? When can you stop whining??? Or crying 😢???
-
4 RepliesActually trench barrel is a 50% buff that lasts for about 5-6 seconds and it's not reliable for guardians beyond those either that are riding each other or are just unskilled at spreading out. Plus it had threat detector and already one shots guardians because of that so it doesn't make much of a difference. So you can either go get the gun and use it if you think that's the only reason people win gambit (because it's not) or you can stop whining about people using a gun effectively to beat you.
-
4 RepliesWho cares if it's powerful that's a good thing. You still have to Melee bosses to activate it and the amount of derps that get stomped across the boss room because they don't know how to counter the stomping mechanic I'd just ridiculous so it's only good in the right hands anyway
-
8 RepliesAnd everyone who can play gambit can also acquire it for themselves with relative ease. Balance.
