How to get the silicone neuroma
If you are grinding for the new nightfall exclusive sniper don’t waste your time putting the modifier up, put it on the lowest one and sprint to the finish. My fire team did this and got 3 to drop in 5 nightfall’s. Don’t believe in ‘the higher the modifier the more likely it is to drop’. If it’s gunna drop it will, regardless of difficulty

I did 3 +80K prestige runs and got nothing. Silicon Neuroma dropped for me on a 2 man normal nightfall (along with the top emblem). Score might increase your chances but I'm not score chasing this week.

9 RepliesJust did 23 Prestige Nightfall runs with the power handicap on 10 reaching 80k every time and completing it in 16 mins every time and it didn't drop for one of us. Im thinking about trying it on normal :(

2 Repliesfinally got this sniper, after 50+ runs (+ forgot how many failed to complete). I ran pres nightfall at 2x arc during previous days, scored 60~80k, but it never dropped. I just was going to have a last try on normal nightfall before giving up tonight, and got it. hard to tell the feeling at that moment. -blam!- rng.

ran it on prestige wit modifier got 65k and got it.

About 10 runs most above 70k saw 1 drop and got my own. Ran a few extra helping with 0 handicap and 1 or two normal runs and didn’t see anyone get it. If I were still shooting for it I’d run it prestige 0 modifier with arc and you can beat it in less than 15 with 65kish score.

Otherwise is negates the point of running it on hard mode. I was actually having fun running this on Prestige with modifiers on, which was a nice surprise because I wasn’t thinking it would be that cool. But then I found out that you could get it by just running through the whole strike on normal and it ruined it for me. Now I just want to speed run it cause that’s the most efficient way to get the gun. Any other way just seems like a waste of time. The reason ppl are finally running the NF a lot is these rewards and they shouldn't ruin this new interest by making it possible to get on normal. I really hope they change this cause I was looking forward to running these every week on Prestige, but If they don’t then I’m just going to speed run them and that would suck. 80k would be a good low bar and then to encourage good play and player improvement they should increase the chances significantly at 100k, 120k, 150k, etc. And of course they should fix the Lost Sector cheese because otherwise that would also cheapen the effort to run the strike well and to improve your game so you get good at hard PVE stuff

11 Replies33 nightfall, 10 normal mode, 23 prestige mode, no sniper. Bungie you need play your game ^_^, have a really infernal sistem drop. I think i need to leave this game for ever.

5 RepliesGot it on normal, best way to get it is just run normal and grind it out, can be done in 13 mins with a solid team. My team mate got 2 in 4 strikes on normal also.

The thing is it wasn't that much of a greater chance. You were better off slotting something else increasing your effectiveness in the game and grinding more that way lol. Except in the early days of Diablo 3 when it was hot garbage and nothing was dropping anyway. Similar thing here. Tying rewards to mechanics and whatnot is better path I find. People love to gamble however, why else would lootboxes be as popular as they are.

I can attest to this. I did 30 80k nigh falls, then realized that in the long run you probably have a better chance of getting it from rapid completions than from having a high score. Sure enough, my 2nd no modifier run, I got it.

Yeah, I'm gonna do it tomorrow, likely all day -- I play on both consoles and have alts in case I get lucky and my fireteam doesn't.
