Luke Smith is no longer the director of Destiny 2 and has been replaced by Christopher Barrett. It’s hard to tell what this means at this point, but Barrett definitely seems more interested in the players’ feedback than Smith ever was
EDIT: OP (me) is an idiot. Luke’s not directly working with D2 anymore, but he hasn’t been completely ousted of power. Barrett is still much more trustworthy

20 RepliesEdited by Der_Peevmeister: 3/17/2018 12:05:36 PMNow don’t get me wrong, I want to believe you. Hell, if Smith was fired or replaced, I’d buy some sidewalk chalk, write his name on the street, and then piss on it. However.... I think you’re referring to the fact that Smith is no longer in charge of D2 support and live updates. That dubious résumé fluff goes to Chris Barrett and the Live Team. In all likelihood, Smith is already hard at work developing Destiny 3; at his nieces’ house, asking them if he should replace Nova Bomb with Rainbow Sparkles or Sunshine Love.

1 ReplyThis post gave me a great idea for a Halloween costume. I'm gonna dress up like a asshole and when people ask me what i am I'm gonna say luke smith.

4 RepliesIsn’t he working on ruining D3 already tho?
-
So Luke is working on D3? Wow for accountability. Dude fkn ruined D2, and is given D3? Amazing.
-
1 ReplyBullshit, nothing that good happens in real life
-
Luke’s moved onto Destiny 3, where he is trying to smother that baby in its crib with a pillow.
D3 that is, not an actual baby.
-
1 ReplyLuke and his team are already working on D3 and judging from D2 track record, D3 is going to be awesome!!! Right?
We might get 3 primaries slots which the 3rd will replace the power slot we currently have in D2.
The three stooges luke smith, mark noseworthy , and John weisnewski are working on destiny 3 now. The destiny universe will die by the three stooges hands!
-
Source. Because none of Bungie official social media has a mention of him as far as I'm finding.
-
LS was promoted to Franchise Director Sep/Oct 2017. CB holds the more. Junior role of Game Director D2.
-
Luke is laughing all the way to the bank and cares little if you enjoy playing D2 or not. As long as he’s been paid then that’s all that matters.
-
PUKE SMITH
-
He looks like a turtle
-
The less Luke Smith talks in any capacity in any forum on Bungie’s behalf, the better. I still wouldn’t get my hopes high with CB.
-
1 ReplyLukee Azz-hat can finally find the time to hit the gym and work on a deal-a-meal diet plan!!!!!

Lol.. I like the op (me) idiot... Lol.. Good post though

Responsible for Destiny as a whole, so with responsibility to D2, the DLC, expansion(s) and Destiny (D3) going forward. The live team are now responsible for and supporting Destiny 2, so it would make sense to put Christopher Barrett in place as D2 director. -
Destiny 2 was a commercial success. That's all Bungie cares about, they don't care if they make a good game. They only care if the game sells. So let's market the game to the up and coming market and toss the people who care about the quality of experience. I do believe this line of thinking matches up with Sophistry.

1 ReplyIt's hilarious how it's acceptable in today's day and age to start a new project before you've cleaned up the last one. Hey guys, we made our D2 release, time to dive into D3! But D2 isn't good yet...
-
1 ReplyWe will probably suffer through D2 only to see it rise above the pile crap it once was only for D3 to come along and start the cycle all over again.

CB is trash too. He blocks twitter accounts that ask him questions he can’t answer. Straight joke of a professional.
