Cheers indeed.
It's been fun Bungie.Net, but this change will end my run.
At least the same requirement wasn't made during Myth, which I discovered also wasn't my cup of tea, but I loved Bungie, was a fan, stayed a fan and considered Marathon still worth playing and talking about, and at the time, thought that Halo was worth waiting for (how right I was).
But as pointed out in this news and as I used to say many times over my time here, "it's their site, their rules and as soon as either I am told that I am no longer welcomed, or that I want to leave on my own accord, that will be that".
It's been an incredibly fun and memorable ride. I still am a fan. Always will be. Hope to see many of you star-side.

I miss recon...

Same.

RIP Old man recon. I'm pretty sure that is one of the last famous accounts back in Halo 3 days to leave.
-
Damn there goes one of my favorite Ninjas of all time. Thank you for all you’ve done recon. I too used to be in this site on a daily bases. I loved Bungie and the Community. However the Bungie I used to know and the community have changed for the worse. I don’t often express my frustrations I prefer to leave. Like you said it’s their site either you put up with it or leave. I still stop by from time to time with the hopes of positive change but I’m often disappointed.
-
Damn. You were an amazing part of this community. I will miss you.
-
Unmatched wit, humor, and articulation! This Ninja made Bungie.net a better place. For those of you who are newer to this site, you missed something special.

Sad day.
*tips fedora*
Things change and sometime you have to get out of the game, this is an understandable move. I think I will opt to stick here until I'm barred or forcefully removed, but whatever the future holds for you, I hope we cross paths again. Old man stories are the best stories.
-
You had a good run man! Enjoy retirement!

Thank you for your service to Bungie.net. Your contribution to the Bungie.net community will not be forgotten. It is a shame that Bungie has done so little in recent years to preserve the community it helped create.

Edited by Kemaleon: 2/9/2018 8:43:49 AMRecon, its sad to see this post dude but I sure understand it. You were my favourite moderator in the Halo 2/3 days and helped out a couple of the groups I was in back then. You also kept guard of our "Lag and Latency for Dummies" thread in the old Zanzibar forums when no one else cared. Back then the likes of Urk and Achronos were regular visitors of the forums and the communication made such a difference. It really is a completely different company now isn't it? And you're the first I've seen for a while thats been here longer than me, not that I play this game any more. Anyway, just wanted to say thanks Recon. Thanks for all your efforts and intentions, hope the heart ache passes quickly.

Edited by Ownzy_: 2/8/2018 6:27:23 AMSad days ahead ‘round these parts man...sad days. I remember seeing your posts many many times back in the Halo 2 days when I was an “Honorable Legendary Member” (my previous account) and you were something crazy like an “Exalted Mythic Member” or whatever. Stay classy. God speed.

Take it from an Exalted Mythic Member, it wasn’t all it was cracked up to be when they took our beautiful blue bars away...

His title was "Master Forum Ninja" Man, I miss the old Bungie.net

Edited by GrundleBeans: 2/8/2018 6:05:46 AMEdited 6h 15m ago, after the new posting rules went into affect. So are you leaving because of principle (despite you aren't affected) or is editing posts the only thing you can do now?
