Bungie, you made great content. The strikes are interesting and have good mechanics. Trials is as competitive as ever (not saying much). While the overall story was poor, the missions were fun. So why does this game suck?
It’s not the content, it’s why we do the content.
The loot is handed to us. We have no reason to keep playing once we get something.
Don’t add content alone. Add a new system that will have us grinding for guns. Make it meaningful.
The endgame is gone. We need it back.

1 ReplyBecause they spent 3 years making a brilliant game, and then got rid of everything that made the first game so astounding.

The game is hopeless! Your dream of a hybrid mmo/rpg type game is done! Bungie choose to go on another path. A path where they are more concerned about Activisions stock price, then giving their fans the game they had envisioned. I would say that I can't wait for another developer to step in and do it right, but with the direction gaming is going in general, I don't have high hopes at all. It seems like now developers are trying too hard to make a quick buck than produce a sound game.
you know together we can make a change....don't buy their shit anymore!!
In D2, the overall dumbing-down of the game and removal of any meaningful endgame has caused this backlash. I don't agree with a lot of changes made to D2 from a "this is how the game works" point of view - but everything would have been OK of there were meaningful things to do. and meaningful stuff to GET. - Heroic Strikes: I know these are coming with Osiris DLC - but will there be modifiers to make it fun, or strike-specific loot to make it, worth doing past being fun) ?? - Hard mode: raid gear, with raid specific perks, not only color changed. Weapons what were locked into the hard mode, ie the only way to get X weapon is in the hard mode. - Random weapon roles: or keep the fixed roles and give us a mod system that is not so useless). - More crucible playmodes: Put in Rumble, Rift, Combined arms, inferno, mayhem - stick all the fun stuff and game modes into its own 3rd playlist - with 6v6. I think there are solutions to these problems and I hope that Bungie realizes sooner rather than later that there were things at the end of D1 that should have carried over to D2. Things that would have made it a lot more fun.

Poorly designed raids armor and weapons destroyed endgame. They are supposed be the biggest reason for players grind their ass off......

Edited by Maliades: 11/20/2017 4:23:12 PMI've heard people saying that Bungie started production on D2 as soon as D1 was released, so I suppose I can see why none of the later DLC-added stuff from D1 is IN D2, but still. It doesn't excuse them from absolutely gutting the game like they have. If anyone asked me to list all the things about D2 that I like better than D1, literally all I would be able to think of is the ledge-grabbing mechanic, the new shader colors, and being able to dye ships sparrows weapons and ghosts. That is all. Put those three things into D1 and I'd have no reason to even OWN the second game. Got some nasty buyers remorse after playing the game through only to discover that they lied through their teeth about the whole 'so much content you'll never run out' crap. :/

It sucks because I spend more time trying to get a team just to play this game. bungie was talking about how D2 is single player friendly at E3. None of the end game content in this other than public events is worth playing as far as loot goes. Nightfall gets a timer, special events requires at least 2 clan members. The point is, they keep building this game team play. No choice, you have a team or you don't get the good loot! If they don't play then it's you don't play which is BS.

4 RepliesBungie's idiotic focus on PvP.

I agree completely, (though in my opinion I didn’t think the story was bad, just wasn’t great) like I was able to get almost all the exotic weapons from public events no problem, the content is fine but it seems that it’s no risk all reward, like you don’t have to do any of the challenging endgame content to get anything good (Besides legend of accrius now that’s an exotic quest that’s actually a bit difficult) exotics should be more rare, I can grind strikes for an hour or two and get nothing but I can just mooch off of some heroic public events and get there exotic engrams in under thirty minute? Content’s fine, reason to do the content needs to change since we’re basically being handed everything on a sliver platter. Also I hate the new IB but I always hated IB so that’s not saying much.
-
Totally agree, it's gone to the extreme of vanilla D1 when it comes to loot. this time in D1 you were lucky if you had a handful of exotics and a very low % of the player base were level 30, D1 vanilla was too stingey but d2 vanilla is the opposite. There's more content on D2 than D1 vanilla but no point in grinding, it was the getting of weapon\armour X that made you keep playing D1, in d2 you probably already got all those so doesn't feel the same. I think another thing is that you're coming off Y3 D1 and there was 3 years worth of activities to choose from, bungie did a great job with age of triumph making all 4 raids relevant again and even upping POE, plus the multiple levels of strike playlists. Bored of wraith, run Vog or Crota, that choice isn't here yet on D2.

2 RepliesEdited by SolarCerberuS: 11/20/2017 7:14:48 AMThere are easy fixes that would give the game life, 1 - to restore replayability and bring back the loot grind remove those idiotic static rolls and return to grinding for rng god rolls 2 - strike specific loot. (Ultimately it would be great to have a full strike themed set of armor and weapons per strike) 3 - end of match rewards like D1 for pvp including Iron Banner 4 - bring all D1 exotics forward and add more new ones, remove the one exotic equip cap for armor. 5 - public event themed loot - full armour and weapon sets for each type 6 - perma ban shitposters (a must have)

2 RepliesD2 IS bad because pvp is not seperate from pve and the Leadership at bungie.

3 RepliesThe piss poor story missions were piss poor. No real challenge anywhere. You could skip 90% of the enemies.

Seeing so many uneducated responses in your replies, but you’re mostly right, while farming guns isn’t the “endgame” it is something they’ve somewhat missed and bungie has stated they’re working on something new. Honestly think to yourself why you’d farm those guns. You’re not doing it so some random guy in a LFG can say you look cool. I know I play this game because my friends are fun to play with.

4 RepliesIt’s all because I️ said it sucked in the first week on the forums...

I advice buy or preorder the game you want with pay pal. Then if it’s really bad just bounce the amount through PayPal they have a 180 day policy if the product is “not as described”. So you buy the game use there severs then take your money back so the intent is for them to spend resources and you get your money back. Maybe next time they wont -blam!- it up. <3 “We are "Anonymous". We are Legion. We do not forgive. We do not forget. Expect us.”

It's not that bad just give it another try:)

D1 there was always a chance at something new, D2 no. That statement by whoever it was " we want to make your 10th better Devils exciting" well in d1 your 10th (insert gun here) had a chance at least, and that's why we played. Chance is gone from d2.

Can you tell us something we didn't already know.

2 RepliesThis is 100% true. The content is fine for the most part but the motivation to grind is not there and the whole part of it is the gear is given too easily and the other part is there aren’t any god tier weapons to go after that fuel the grind. In all looter style games this is what keeps people going. Content can be great but that doesn’t keep people going indefinitely. In the end there needs to be other goals than “for fun”. This may sound absurd but truth is just for fun is great but new games with new experience can be more fun. Doing the same thing over and over again with no goal becomes not fun. There needs to be something you want to obtain/achieve. In D1 powerful weapons was that goal for the most part. Weapons that separated you from the herd. There was also grimoire and some other milestones to obtain which helped too. I enjoy the gameplay and enjoy the overall content and personally will continue to play but still that can get dry and the desire and push to login kind of dies. The D1 style could be frustrating at times but the payoff when you got what you desired was part of the fuel as it felt great when that weapon dropped finally. Hopefully we can navigate to some medium between what we have now and what we had. Without a hook to grind I fear what will become of the game. Personally I don’t see it as a true looter in its current state really as everything is pretty much handed to you. You don’t need to try to do anything abnormal and you will reach max level and obtain most the top weapons from just doing base weekly items and being part of a clan. Armor doesn’t matter so there is no need to grind for that once you find something you like unless you are a completionist. Personally I am not which is why the game slowly is grow by stale in its current state.

You mean just looking for a gun with full auto heavy cal or explosive rounds was good "content" lol

I've said this before, but it rates repeating: Destiny 2 is not trash. It is a very good game. But that's all it is. Destiny 1 was not a game. It was more than that. Destiny 1 was a way of life. There's a great YouTube video about people attending a Destiny support group. Yes, the experiences described in the video are... ah, extreme. But there's truth buried in the hyperbole: the game was almost as addictive as that "put the disks in the holes" game they had in that "Star Trek: the Next Generation" episode. D2... nope. It's just a game. And people have played it, finished with it, and moved on.
-
Maybe it's that bungie chopped out everything that made the first game great for example Infusing system Light level progression Decent rewards Weapons that actually worked well most of the time😏 Wide range of armour & weapons both legendary and exotics an on reskins Pvp that wasn't too bad unlike now A voice actor that knew what he was doing : Peter Dinkage aka the ghost unlike nolan north which sounds like a idiot & a lot more but I think we all know by now ..... the only problem is that bungie is still pretending that there is no problem and that what needs to be fix
