Rift takes 3 years to cast, Stormcaller takes 2 second to use the ult, Devour a grenade takes 3 second to consume... striker is instant for example...

Ahem, shadowshot.

I think it is important to think of how the warlock abilities are designed to be used. If you can get out of the mentality of using your skills reactively, you can really unlock the potential of the class. I will use your examples as my point. Rift: this ability is not an "oh shit, I'm about to die" lifesaver. If you have already taken a lot of damage, you will likely be dead before it gets off, unless you can vacate the area and find cover first (in which case, let your high recovery do the job for you). Ideally, you are preemptively using rift when you know heavy damage or a protracted fight will be coming soon. An example of this is during the castelium (sp?); using rift prior to the standard bearer popping out means you should have no issue soloing him down quickly without fear of his hard-hitting blows. Devour grenade: you should be using this to proc devour as you move into an encounter. Once up, you have 8 seconds to kill something to reset the timer. This means, the most efficient use of the devour grenade is to pop it as you are moving into an add phase. If you are using this ability as a heal while you run away from combat, you have effectively wasted a devour proc and a grenade cooldown and left yourself with very little benefit. Arc super: this is one of the most efficient roaming supers in the game. In comparison to the striker having to jump into the air over and over again or the arcstrider and their spastic striking pattern, the warlock is king of roaming and killing. It simply takes a little preplanning to get the most out of it. TL;DR warlock is a class focused on tactical superiority, not spray & pray headbashing.

Devoured is also the best health perk in the game by far. A kill restarts the devoured perk meaning you could have infinite Health with constant kills. Also Striker no longer has a large blastradius nor the shockwave effect. It’s strictly Melee range super now but with roaming.

Rift takes 3 years to cast, Stormcaller takes 2 second to use the ult, Devour a grenade takes 3 second to consume... striker is instant for example...
Your rift gives you near unlimited health and increased damage. Devouring a grenade recharges your full health Literally any Hunter super takes longer to summon Striker is instant, but it's also melee based and you don't move much as much when casting it
And the Warlocks call us Hunters the crybabies?
Tether takes 97 seconds for the animation and then another 97 seconds for the tether to actually activate..... pole dancer is absolute shite in PvP..... and we have a completely useless class ability..... shall I continue
-
With rift active you can soak Hunter's Vortex Grenade... This is not even exagerated and what is worst it doesnt even become lethal when talented to extend vortex Duration... If anything warlocks should recieve a massive overall nerf but it would be better buffing everything aside from warlocks as nerfs are never good.

1 ReplyAll hunters take longer The sentinel and daybreak take so,e time Striker is instant but it is melee Warlocks are op so they take and extra millisecond to cast
-
Did they nerf rift duration? It seems to last a lot shorter now
-
11 RepliesHa, try to tether a player and get back to me...
-
No, Striker takes plenty of time to get a Barricade up, or to animate for supers. I've died many times either in Super animation with the other Titans supers, or before I finishing slamming the ground with Striker.
-
At least you warlocks have an awesome ability compared to a "dodge". At least your ability gives you health from a grenade. Tether takes long to activate. Animation is also too long.
-
1 ReplyStriker's super is a slightly OP at the moment. It doesn't need to be nerfed....but the other supers need to be buffed up to its level.
-
1 ReplyThis is really my main complaint with warlocks. Cast times in the voidwalker tree almost make them useless in pvp.
-
The God dam rift animation Nooooo!!!!
-
Its a fair balance considering how easy they are to use compared to hunters
-
Honestly, pretty much everything is slower in D2. Pretty sure all to balance PVP. So even the striker is slower than you think. The slam in mid air can easily be capped down especially if you’re next to a teammate. I️ just want Death From Above back. Most fun in all of D1...

My thoughts exactly. Need to get behind cover and make sure no one is rushing before you cast anything. In the case of Dawnblade super everyone hears it and runs off or sets up behind cover. I have popped my super so many times and just watched the energy run down without throwing a single sword. Good for recharging your abilities 🙄
