Honestly I think Destiny 2 would have made a pretty good dlc instead of a whole game. This unpolished game could have been more fun if it was a add on as the final raid of destiny 1 so that all the enemies had their own raid. Anyone feel the same?

1 ReplyWell I specifically work for Warframe. So you should buy all the microtransactions possible duh

5 RepliesAgreed if this game was an expansion instead of a sequel there wouldn't be as many issues because they would have just added on to D1. I would have paid $60 for this to be added to D1 and be happy with the additions of activities and weapons. Only issue is this game couldn't be an expansion because they were trying to find a way to get rid of the powerful gear and replace it with balanced gear. D1 Gear - Fun and powerful D2 Gear - Boring and balanced Also I am a PvE player first so I don't care about PvP balancing because end of the day if a weapon is too strong just lock it out of PvP problem solved.

Edited by Smough: 10/24/2017 9:41:22 AMConsidering they charged $40 for ttk destiny 2 would have probably been a $100+ dlc. I’m glad it isn’t though, the foundation is solid and I can’t wait to see what bungie does in the future. However they do need to start fixing some of the problems before they work on new content. I kinda expected this sort of reaction to destiny 2 though. Remember during the beta everybody complaining that it’s just destiny 1.5 or a dlc to destiny? Welp, look at those people now.

1 ReplyDestiny (1) was intended to be an MMORPG. Therefore, you don't release sequels, you release expansions and every now and then upgrade the engine/graphics. Destiny had ambition, then it devolved into a generic first-person shooter.
-
I feel like we should have had a TTK sized expansion, while they took another year to work on D2
-
They killed off the ten year plan when this wasnt made an extension of the d1 universe.

Edited by Mini: 10/24/2017 8:38:35 AMNot sure how that would have played out but I think I'd have preferred that to the standalone game. Destiny 1 with D2's added story, missions and worlds, enemy types, updates to their AI and abilities, keeping the D1 weapons and weapon system (though fine to remove the need to upgrade them to unlock perk nodes) and supers (though they could've updated them as they have for D2 except keeping D1's complexity in the skill tree) and ability recharge rate and character movement, there'd have been less/no disconnect in the overall story/lore. More strikes, more loot, more maps, more choice, more fun. Instead they released a new Base game that isn't as fun and doesn't seem will actually be built upon any differently to the formula used in D1 anyway.

Destiny 2 is nothing more than a dlc on a disc. Lol.

4 RepliesHave you ever played MAG on PS3? It was an online shooter that went through a 2.0 patch half a year later that made the game completely different! Almost like a sequel. And it was a frickin patch. More changes and differences than D2 was to D1. A freaking patch, I say again. D2 has less to offer than TTK did in terms of reward and exploration.

Ya scaring me now , im just about to buy the pc version with my buddies, im a destiny one veteran, the taken king expansion solved most of the issues ans was the most fun to my experience.

1 ReplyThere is A lot to be said about a game that continues to grow rather than scrapping everything every couple of years.
-
I’d rather have a D1 dlc with its reward system
-
Could you imagine? It would have been great. I would be grinding away.

Edited by SolarCerberuS: 10/24/2017 3:31:59 AMIt was proably the initial plan but they wanted/needed to drop the 360/ps3 so they saw an oppertunity to charge full price and go back to a bare bones release. Only to charge us again to re-add what was removed going forward gotta love business.
-
2 RepliesIf D2 was a dlc, it would get a price tag ~ $40 - 60. Sell D2 as a standalone sequel and ask for $80 - 120. Profit x 2, easy easy.
-
1 ReplyHell yeah would still love to be using Zhalo right now
-
Yea, this game sucks.
-
it should have been dlc so they could have taken their time to make a good D2. D2 should have picked up where ROI left off yet no horde mode, same amount of strikes as vanilla d1, pvp that is 1/3 less of D1, it's just bad. I know they want to make $ but dlc cash followed by a good D2 release has to be better than what they're dealing with now, shitty #'s for D2 by week 4 and the whole company praying that the first DLC is a success.
-
Should of been an ACTUAL game not dlc.

2 RepliesI downloaded warframe and haven't look back
