With strikes i understand it drops possiblilities rare + gear and what i dont unerstand is how you can make me do strikes when the gear does not drop at higher than 265+ ,i am 269. So how do i get up my light level when I don't have a fireteam to do nightfall or raids. Please fix this, whats the point of strikes anymore...
I have read the replies so far and it seems 50 percent agree and 50 percent dont. What I'm getting at is the fact right now on d2 I have no way of getting good gear EXCEPT from nightfall - which I've done. Now there isn't a way to get good gear and strikes seem to be the 2nd option. So without raids / trials yet what do i do. Strikes seem not good enough. This is most likely from the high leveling speed we have in D2 as i havent really enjoyed powering up as it has been like a blur. Especially if you grind like me. Thank you for reading.

You're not really supposed to easily get past 265? That's basically the soft cap and you need weekly activity to go past that, like nightfall and flash points
-
2 RepliesBs I got great loot. Shit look at my light level only 2 or 3 light to 280
-
1 ReplyThe D2 Infusion System makes the "forever 29l" possible again. I have been stuck for going on 3 days at 272. I was gaining powerlevel fine, then bam, nothing drops that higher then what I have. #Infusion=forever29

Are you popping the reward boosts? I used to find the Strikes in D1 entertaining because you could thrash through them but these seem to be slow rather long with not a lot of reward at the end.

1 ReplyReally? For one the game was just released so of course theyre not gonna give you the best gear from the start that'd be stupid and two the strikes are recommended power 220 and theyre not even heroic. What did you expect to get exactly? I'm sorry you get higher gear than youre supposed to for something that's power level 220.

3 RepliesEdited by TNB719699: 9/12/2017 4:56:47 AMBump, I get two rare 261 when my light is 267 -_- Edit: mine was the nightfall

Do public events and their heroic versions for increased chances of an exotic and use that to level up
-
It's the first week. All the end game content isn't here yet. We got Trials and the Raid this week (I think), Iron Banner next month, not to mention weekly Milestones. You'll be complaining about too much end game content before too long. Be patient.

Makes post complaining that he doesn't have players to play end game content with.... Ends post asking people to join his 'active clan'. 🤔

3 RepliesWhat they really need is a Strike system that scales with your Fireteams light level + X to make it hard. This would mean it is always challenging, combine this with a wipe mechanic (if the entire Fireteam is dead the Strike is over), extra elite enemies and your super loses its energy on death. Call it Hardcore and leave it as a permanent option for all Strikes. Then adjust the loot accordingly so its a viable end game activity.

Public events give you rewards 4 times faster! Why even bother with strikes?
-
Agreed, needs looking at, investment doesn't match rewards.

3 RepliesWelcome to Destiny.... Quite honestly, in Y2+, strikes were TOO rewarding, which was why endgame was essentially irrelevant. Why do a hard nightfall when virtually anything that could drop from the nightfall could be obtained by running a 3oC in a normal strike? In fact, your chances were actually better since you didn't have three of coins, strange coins, sparrow kits, and other ridiculous loot on the loot table. It is what it is. Your not supposed to be able to get a character to max light in a day.
-
4 RepliesThey definitely don't seem on par with other activities. Most strikes take around 20 minutes, but I can do 3 or 4 public events in that time and get more rewards. I miss the shorter strikes :(
-
Play with people in your clan. The only thing that gets you better gear will be the raid or trials, otherwise everyone is in the same boat. You're not missing out on anything.
-
Im hoping they will bring heroic strikes back to fill the gap between 265 and 300, leveling really slows down after 265.
-
I haven't done enough to really judge too much (I started a hunter right after I got my Titan semi close to raid ready) but I will say the couple I played were huge bummers reward wise. I did really enjoy the strikes themselves though, they were difficult but fun, unlike my memories of some D1 strikes. Hopefully I just had a couple bad RNG rolls and things get better
-
7 RepliesI agree. No point in stepping foot in there if you're over 265. For that reason, I'm not playing tonight. The only way that I have any chance of increasing my light level is grinding out heroic Public events, and that stopped being fun 2 days ago.
-
Just grind out those rep tokens you get from the different planets and then turn them all in. Grind out a bunch on one planet (100+, doesn't take but a few hours) and turn them all in at once. Lots of purples that will level up with the gear you have. It's how a lot of people who solo and don't run nightfall/PvP are leveling up.
-
In other words: "Gimme what I want because I'm to lazy to do the harder stuff that would give me what I'm looking for."
-
The goal was for them to cap normal drops at that level so that the only way to progress from there is to do harder, end game, content.
-
Engrams do drop higher than 265..... my one character is 285 with highest gear dropped. The other is 279
-
2 RepliesPublic events are both faster and easier to farm with a group. To be fair though, most of the vanguard weapons are pretty solid so they're worth the effort
-
The Destiny endgame is public event farming hoping for exotic engrams once you are past the once per week items like clan XP, nightfall and the raid But also remember when the heroic raid comes out they may well up the caps from other sources as they have done in the past. So if you're not up for the heroic public event grind, picking the low hanging fruit each week and waiting for a step in the loot system is likely to be a reasonable strategy,

7 RepliesAt least you get 5 tokens per strike. Crucible only gives 1 per game and both require 20 to get an engram from zavala/shaxx
