Hello,
How long is the About section?
if it is to long, this error will occur.

I am having the same problem. My clan has been around since March 25th 2015. Everything transferred over except the clan motto. I am tried to add it back as well as update the about us and I keep getting an error that reads "The provided clan name or clan tag is not acceptable, please choose another." Not understanding why this is happening.

How many characters are both your motto and your about section?

About Us is 145 word count which is shorter than what it was. Clan motto was 16 word count. Everything transfered over except the motto. When I try to edit get a warning I can only make one change per second and then the unacceptable clan name pops up. I tried only adding a single word to the motto and the same thing.

Edited by Darkethena: 8/31/2017 1:04:15 PMNo. The motto is nothing out of the ordinary. I have spoken with Stosh about the issue. I was told a patch is being pushed on 9/5 that will hopefully correct this issue. He had asked what the clan motto was and I provided him the same details as you. I can not make any changes to the culture text without being told I can only make one change per second and then I get the unacceptible clan name/tag message. This is happening to other people on the forum too which leads me to believe this is a bug.

I considered that also. But what I currently have written in my clan description is longer than what I'm trying to change it to.

Mine currently has 525. It's the same one that I've been using since last year. Do you know what the max character limit is?

I'd like to say it's between 250 and 300, but I don't know the exact limit. I'd say, that would be your issue at this time though.

That doesn't seem to be the case at this moment. I think this might just be a bug that Bungie didn't fix yet :') I literally went back into the clan description and typed a period "." it made me wait 5 minutes before I could make any changes again. So I waited and then copied and pasted my old clan bio back into it. (Which has 525 characters in it) and then it once again saved it. I'm going to try this process again, but this time I'll be putting in the new clan description that I've been trying to add this entire time and see if it works.
