Although Destiny is criticized for its lackluster story, players who actually bother to read the grimoire will know that Destiny has some pretty sweet lore. My new DLC idea is called Praedyth’s Revenge, and is based on the lore hidden in the grimoire.
The new max light level has been raised to 475. Praedyth’s Revenge actually comes with two campaigns; the first campaign is called Praedyth’s Revenge, and the second is called The Ahamkara Live. You unlock the Ahamkara Live campaign by completing the Praedyth’s Revenge campaign. Please don’t hate on this idea although I’m fine with critique. Warning: This is an extra-long read.
The campaign begins when the Vanguard receive a distress signal from the Cult of Osiris on Mercury and send us to investigate. We learn that the Vex are becoming bolder and have launched an attack on Osiris’ headquarters, the Lighthouse. As we progress through the mission, we enter a Vex portal that transports us to a previously unexplored part of the Vault of Glass. There, we hear Praedyth calling for help. We fight our way through hordes of Vex and eventually face the newly-reanimated Templar.
Upon defeating the Templar we find Praedyth stranded in the depths of the Vault. Ok, for those of you saying "Praedyth's dead, we found his skeleton in the Paradox mission" - Praedyth was erased from existence by the Vex, meaning he is neither dead nor alive. Praedyth's physical body was destroyed by the Vex decades ago, although his true form was trapped deep within the Vault of Glass. We then rescue Praedyth and return to present day Mercury. We are then granted access to the Lighthouse, which is also the “new” social space.
Yes, I know the Lighthouse technically isn’t new, although at the moment it’s just a big empty space with nothing in it except the flawless trials chest. In the Praedyth’s Revenge expansion, the Lighthouse has been expanded with tons of new vendors, such as Praedyth and the new Cryptarch, who sells artifacts with unique talents on them like the Memory of Kabr, Memory of Praedyth, Memory of Pahanin, and Memory of Pujari. I had an idea for an artifact which takes away your super but allows you to equip two exotic weapons at the same time.
Anyway, back to the story. Having rescued Praedyth, it’s time to begin our journey across Mercury and Venus to battle the Vex and defeat Atheon once and for all. In the second mission of the campaign we head to Venus and enter the Vault of Glass. There, we walk through a portal that takes us to a far-away system, which is now in ruins. Centuries ago, the inhabitants of that system, the Eliksni, experienced a Golden Age under the Traveller. After walking through the portal and finding ourselves in this far-away system, we are shown a cutscene of the Eliksni as they experience a Golden Age under the Traveller. Heck, there’s even the Eliksni equivalent of Guardians!
However, a huge black hole appears in the skies above the Eliksni homeworld. The black hole begins to feed on the Traveler's Light, and the great machine flees the Eliksni solar system. The cutscene ends and we spawn in on the Eliksni homeworld. The Eliksni begin to attack us and we fight one of their Kells. After defeating the Kell, we return to present day Vault of Glass.
In the third mission, we are contacted once more by the Exo Stranger so we head to Venus to meet her. There, we enter an Ishtar collective building and fight our way through Vex enemies. This mission is pretty similar to the first mission on Venus, but the Stranger actually has time to explain who the hell she is! She reveals her true identity as Maya Sundaresh, a scientist who used to work for the Ishtar collective. Maya was also the founder of the City faction FWC. Although there are a number of theories on the Exo stranger's identity, I think the most plausible theory is that she is maya. However the stranger says she is needed elsewhere and disappears.
In the fourth mission, we follow the Exo Stranger’s trail to the Shores of Time on Venus. This mission is set in an expanded version of the shores of time crucible map. In the mission, we enter a Vex portal that takes us to the black garden. Throughout the mission, we are contacted by Pujari, a Warlock who drowned himself in the Shores of Time to receive a vision of the Black Garden and the Vex within. The final boss of the mission is a Vex Minotaur like the ones we killed in the original black garden story mission. Once we have defeated the Minotaur, we return to present day Venus. Ghost tells us we drowned ourselves in the Shores of Time and he had to revive us, meaning our experience in the Black Garden was just another vision.
There are several more mission in the Praedyth’s Revenge campaign, many of which are set on Mercury. In the final mission, we enter the Vault of Glass and are transported to the future. In this future, the Tower has fallen and the Last City has been reduced to a mobile fleet wandering through space – scattered and desperate. Praedyth glimpsed this future while he was trapped in the Vault of Glass.
In the mission, Atheon spawns in and we fight him in the ruins of the City. Eventually, we defeat Atheon and send him tumbling into a giant black hole. When we return to the Lighthouse, Praedyth says we prevented this future from coming to pass and we complete our initiation into the Cult of Osiris.
Upon completing the Praedyth’s Revenge campaign, we unlock the remade version of the Vault of Glass, which is exactly the same as normal VoG but all the enemies are Level 42. The loot table from the remade VoG is exactly the same as the loot table from the original VoG, meaning we now have Year 3 versions of the Fatebringer, Vision of Confluence, Atheon’s Epilogue and all the classic VoG weapons. There is also an exotic quest linked to the remade VoG which rewards you with the Year 3 Vex Mythoclast, as well as a new exotic sword quest which rewards you with a new Solar exotic sword. One of the steps in the Vex mythoclast exotic bounty is to enter the VoG Raid and salvage three relics: the Templar's Mind Core, the Eye of a Gorgon, and the Heart of Atheon.
All the Year 3 VoG primaries except the Vex Mythoclast cause kinetic damage, however the Praedyth’s Revenge expansion comes with elemental cores which you can buy from either Xur or the Gunsmith. Elemental cores infuse a certain element to any Year 2/3 legendary primary of your choice. Elemental cores only work on Year 2/3 legendary primaries.
So, that’s Part 1 of my new DLC idea. I will post Part 2 soon. Leave any queries down below. 😉
Part 2 is now out so check it out!

Check out part 2!

1 ReplyGuardians (or their equivalents) did not exist until the Traveller sacrificed itself to spawn the Ghosts. All civilizations the Traveller visited did not have Guardians, as it abandoned them every time the Darkness destroyed them, until it chose to fight for humanity. Even if it wanted to leave, Rasputin would've crippled it and it would have to fight anyways.

1 ReplyBungie has way too much on their hands and is working on destiny two so after the dawning, probs gonna be one last update...no dlc.

2 RepliesThis sounds awful
-
Crusader Prophet thinks this is the worst idea he's ever heard in his 11 years on this earth.
-
3 RepliesWhy are dense -blam!-s like you still posting your roleplay nonsense in lore
-
5 RepliesGood sir, please do piss off with your slightly more refined, yet somehow worse, version of the DLC proposal you posted several weeks ago. It is still nonsense and it still takes the lore, beats it up, and throws it out a window. None of your ideas will be good, as was the case in your previous version of this. PS Don't bother posting that second part of this nonsense.

2 RepliesNO. MORE. HIVE.
-
7 Replies1 huge flaw in your entire wall of words.......this entire story would change the course of history in destiny. Since pryadeth is dead as of now, going back in time and saving her would change everything due to the butterfly effect it would cause.
-
3 RepliesSo we can look forward to "I CANT SHEE I CANT SHEE MY SCWEEN IS TUWNING BLACK"
-
1 ReplyI love the idea, but it seems you incorporated a "story" into your post? Last time I checked Bungo quit making good stories after the Halo days. Joking aside, Destiny's story is too awful at this point, Bungie needs to realize how awful it is. RoI was an awful piece of writing, which is sad because TTK showed great promise.

1 ReplyWhen random forum users make better stories than paid employees, smh.

11 RepliesSo what you're saying is we get to play the same content for a third year?! Oh man, take my money!
-
12 RepliesIt's like they don't pay people to create stuff already.
-
1 ReplyHELL YES! Love this idea totally
-
8 RepliesPraedyth is dead...
-
6 RepliesThe Vex want to crush the last city "once and for all"? That doesn't sound too Vex like... If they wanted to, they could have done it by now.
-
13 RepliesI stopped reading at "Shade of Atheon". This is pointless anyway. There will be no more DLCs for this game. D2 is going to have a wholly different method of consistently delivering new content. I'm hoping they go back to the way they did it in Y1, and give us smaller expansions every few months and a large one in September. Considering they recently brought Vicarious Visions on board and their ongoing partnership with High Moon Studios, they should be able to produce content at a much faster rate than they have been over the last 15 months.
