Is 3 of coins broken?
I've popped 1 separately after each strike and that's about 15 coins wasted and never once got an exotic drop...

Stop wasting them on strikes. Go farm a story boss. You will see way more engrams.

20 3oC without an exotic is about as bad as it gets. I have had that happen once, and I pop 50-75 coins a week. Most of the time you should expect an exotic every 7-10 coins from my experience. Back to back engrams are extremely rare... but it still happens, just like long streaks without them.

There is a cooldown between uses of the "Three of Coins". The first time you use the coins you have a higher chance of getting an exotic, not all the time of course, it's rng based so hope you get lucky! But furthermore there is a cooldown between uses and after the first use you have less of a chance to get an exotic (I've forgotten how long the cooldown is, I apologize). It is still possible to get exotics even when the cooldown is active, it's just luck based. Hope this helped! Happy ventures' Guardians! -Happyslip

2 RepliesThought it was just me. 0 out of 20 so far. It's never been that bad for me. The last 20 were consecutive strikes and only received one legendary with the streak going.

1 ReplyIt seems to be broken on strikes for me. When i do a 2 hour stint with strike booster, i dont get any to drop. In the last iron banner they were dropping every 5-6 matches, on average for me. Yet again PVE gets shafted. Anyway today I was doing the black garden, resumed and got got nothing, second run on the last boss I got a purple drop, I have had greens drop of him in the past. So restarted the mission and on the 3rd boss I got a double exotic drop, first time in a long time. I put a vid up on my xbox so I could remember this moment forever, lol. Last thing, I am sure there has been a shortage of titan helmets and heavy engrams, I got one of each from the double drop. I couldn't get them to drop as engrams or factions rewards.

2 RepliesI've popped about 150 in the last 2 weeks and received about 20 engram which is about 1 every 7 uses. I don't think it's broken tbh I think it's fair and gives me a reason to grind. Lowering the drop rate hasn't bothered me this grind brings me back to y1 man.

1 ReplyFor myself I'd swear they were nerfed b/c I rarely see exotic engrams when using them like I used too. Recently while running strikes, crucible, and such I went though 44 and got 2 exotic engrams!

I've went thru 37 3oC between 2 characters on the ultra night on the dreadnaught and best drop I got besides black wax idol was a green auto rifle.

I've had what seems like poor experience. Only once did it work out and ended up with two drops. I've heard you want to spread it out every other three matches or strikes to make the "3" of coins a little more relevant. Some folks swear by it and I'm looking to test it more.

They've been working better for me. The way to go is Crucible though, not strikes.

10 RepliesIf you're having trouble getting 3oC to work do what I do. I pop one and get into whatever I'm doing. Whether it be a strike, crucible match, whatever. Complete whatever you're doing until it takes the 3oC and see if you got an exotic. If not I do another activity WITHOUT popping another 3oC and complete that. Because apparently there's a debuff that reduces the effectiveness of 3oC if one is activated within 10-15 minutes of one another. Then I will pop another 3oC and keep doing that until one drops. Then switch characters and start the process over. This allows you to avoid the debuff penalty you get if you use 3oC too close together.

I did the iron tomb farm with 3oC, one day I got 7 exotics in just under an hour then today I did the same thing and only got 3, it's just RNG at it's best/worst.

Don't use them for anything else except grinding the Iron Tomb. I [b]always[/b] get more exotics from that than strikes.
