Immediately upon launching the game after the newest patch, I noticed a filmgrain effect present throughout all the UI and in game, practically everywhere!
Not sure if this is an intentional change or not, but it definitely doesn't seem so.
After some research and browsing, it seems the effect is present on both platforms Xbox One & PS4, and bizarrely some people have the effect present in their game and some don't?
Hoping we can bring this to Bungie's attention and get an official response ASAP.
Extremely excited for Rise of Iron and hope that this issue can be fixed beforehand, thank you for reading! <3

It looks bad, scary bad. Like another guardian said on reddit: "film grain filter is generous. This is a low quality posterization." Actual filters like the one from Mass Effect don't look that bad, but this is far from a proper p.p. effect. It strains the eyes and is very distracting. I also wonder why so few people have mentioned how washed off everything looks due to this. It's horrible.

Hey there, Bungie are aware of some players reporting an increased "film-grain" effect with the introduction of update 2.4.0 and are currently investigating. I have this too. I just figured it was all the money I'd thrown at my screen.

1 ReplySame here. Read a post on reddit and seems to be on box Xbox as well as Playstation. Hope this isn't the new look.

My suspicion is this is a botched lighting effect or filter, which is worse for some people and not so bad for others depending on how their viewing device processes the image: Noise reduction, brightness, sharpness etc etc. It's horrible on my BenQ gaming monitor right now, to the point of straining my eyes.

Lower your sharpness just a tad, it helps.

1 ReplyI noticed this also. When I turned the brightness up though it didn't seem as bad. But I hardly think it fixed the issue. Maybe it's snow? Lol

Yep same thing!

Same issue here. I have an Xbox one and thought I was going crazy. I don't think is intentional. If you go to the inventory screen and look at the back ground, it's clear before your guardian loads. I am hoping they fix this, and I hope they acknowledge this as an issue.
