scared of buying the next dlc?

i am personally afraid that im about to give money to some more lag fest. anyone else who is gonna wait till after some more pvp information about next update dlc, before buying it? im tired of the worst matchmaking in gaming history and the constant lag. CONSTANT. but what im most tired of is that theres no one in bungie who will comment on crucible lag. but keeping everything a secret. its a big middle finger to the players.

I'd pre order it if it was a physical copy because I could pre order it without paying for it now. I'll just buy it a few days after release, I really don't need a Gjallarwing and a different coloured Gjallarhorn because I'm not 12!

  • Lag is because of Skill Based Matchmaking. Only 2 things will fix it, dedicated servers or make all matchmaking Connection Based Matchmaking. Don't hold your breath for things to be fixed in PvP before the new DLC. If you like the game and $30.00 doesn't strain your bank account, buy the DLC. Why not? Even if PvP is still a red barring-guardian teleporting-sweaty salt fest full of nerf herders, I'm sure the PvE side will still be worth the money.

  • ...so don't get it until it's out and reviewed

  • Definitely not preordering!!!! They have lost all credibility with me, unfortunately there has been too many problems with the game, too many nerfs, too much ignoring of fundamental issues, too much reskinning and chopping up of original content, too much meta manipulation for pvp, too little regard for great feedback, too much straight up lying, too little progress on the wish list, too, too, too little too late Bungie. You can take your iron gally and well......I am sure you can figure out what I want you to do with it.

  • If you're genuinely afraid about this kind of a decision, then you should not buy it. Your mental health is much more important then a game. More games are coming out. Give those a go instead.

  • Well i mean, if you have a good job it's not like you're selling your soul for 30$ lol. If you don't have a good job, then that should be the main worry, not wether or not to buy the next dlc. This wasn't directed at the op.

  • I changed my mind as well. I was about to pre order but after this IB disaster ... no. They, bungie, abandoned D1, that much is clear. I think I'll just wait for D2.

  • I'm not scared of buying the next DLC. I choose NOT TO BUY IT. Bungie has decided no optional MM and I respect that decision. We'll see if the community (trolls) respect mine.

  • I'm going to buy it actually I already did, Destiny is a game that everyone complains about yet they play without hesitation. Destiny for me anyway is just a game that I play to have a good time and not have to be serious about it, personally I think the devs should shrug off 95% of the nerfing and only fix what needs to be fixed and not just things that people cry nerf over just because it killed them a few times.

  • I'm certainly reluctant. I won't be preordering as I think the game is on the verge of falling apart and I don't think a new DLC will fix that. If I hear the Crucible issues have been addressed (and I doubt that will happen) I might get it.

    • Yes, considering every patch as of late seems to break the game as a whole.

    • I'm gonna look at multiple reviews, definitely not preordering. I'm mostly leaning towards not getting it though. I don't think Destiny is fixable at this point

    • I'm afraid that the nerfs will be game ending, I don't know about pre-ordering unless I know that Weisnewski has been either demoted or fired. Even still, these nerfs make me one step away from uninstalling and walking away for good.

      • I'm not really a PVP player. I'm still worried though. Quest lines which involve PVP put me off.

        • What's the dlc got to do with lag? The majority of the content is pve.

          • Didn't buy it for PVP, never buy DLC for PVP, pre-ordered RoI, don't care about PVP. But I can understand your concern, the only thing I can say is, the DLC will still be there, the Pre-order bonuses are obtainable in-game just a slightly different color, so you won't be missing out on much, if anything in case you don't decide to pre-order, so its not like waiting after more info or the release to get it is going to hurt you.

          • Waiting for Destiny2. Hopefully we get dedicated servers and an actual story with huge open world maps. Also hopefully drag the Stranger and Traveler into said story.

Personally, Taken King DLC for me was very well done compared to Dark Below and House of Wolves and if the new DLC is as good as that or better I'll get it. BUT I am waiting until at least a month or two after the DLC's release to see if I should get it, if there's one thing Bungie taught me it's to NOT pre-order content from them ever again.

            • I'm worried they've jus reskinned fallen n cosmodrome. Hardly new content. Some new areas, yes, but does this mean the c'drome will always be snowy? Will it change the previous content? No pre order for me. I'll leave it a few months n see what's what.

            • Never been at Destiny because of the pvp, but at this point is worthless, I'll wait ofr the remaster of skyrim amd then look for mass effect, at least bethesda and bioware know how to do games properly

              • I'm getting it. I mean, I'm going to play it either way so I may as well preorder. And I'll get the items and they're pretty. So that's a plus.
