Whenever people argue about the crucible or how well you did at something kd always shows up. Well guess what, it proves nothing. Whenever people say stuff like "says guy with .8 kd" that doesn't immediately prove I suck. It could mean I only get stuck with red bar warriors. It could mean I am genuinely bad at a single part of the game. Or, it just means I hate PvP and stopped playing after having some bad matches. Personally, I never bought Destiny for the PvP. I bought it so I could murder aliens with my friends, not watch my favorite weapons get nerfed into submission and face a cruel, lag-filled version of Edge of Tomorrow. So, stop thinking you're some kind of PvP God because other people don't have good kds. After all, they are nothing more than a number on a screen.
By the way, git gud is a sh!tty argument because I don't care how good I am, I'm just saying don't think you're so much better because you have a different number on a screen.

Edited by Brandon: 7/2/2016 9:34:07 PMWhat's the point of this? If you are a .8 that means you arent as good as someone who is 1.5. I'm not that good at pvp either buddy. It's ok.

We'll see if someone has a negative KD, it's an indicator of lower skill. Lower skilled/experience players tend to have no true idea about balance or abilities due to lack of experience and the level they play at.

1 ReplyI was in court going against a jury for a crime I committed. I explained my reasoning was based on my k/d in Destiny. They understood, the judge agreed w/ me and let me go w/ a warning. Pushing your k/d on others saves lives ☝️
-
6 RepliesBefore you get mad and call me a noob the reason I have a low kd is because I played destiny year one back when I sucked at pvp now I'm fairly decent because I ruined my kd in tearone
-
Using K.D in an arguement is a childish move and should be frowned upon. At the same time having a ridiculous K.D like 0.02 normally means you suck major balls or are new and havent played much pvp, still K.D shouldnt be brought into the arguement.
-
Unless you're joking. KD should never be used as an argument. I'd much rather just have a team of friends to kick ass or have our own ass kicked.

8 RepliesDude i am bad at pvp not gonna lie i am 0.7 my all time low. And it really doesn't bother me when a pvp guru who has 1.20 kd says git gud scrub. Because let's face the music here. There is a reason why they dominate and we don't; i am not very patient in clash and i tend to rush but then boom headshot cause pros know my antics. So i lack patience versus snipers. So they know i'm gonna try something and exploit the everloving crap out of it. But it teaches me what my faults are and how to fix them. All and all you can salty all you want about someone saying git gud but try to analyze your faults and work on them. That is what i do.

KD actually justifies many arguments by seeing how bad and whiny they really are...
-
Well if Bungie are using K/D as a MM criteria, why shouldn't we use it? My KD is 0.8 lifetime. #upyours
-
Agree 100% im not necessarily bad, i just dont try most of the time. im actually pretty above average.
-
4 RepliesIf you have a low kd you shouldn't be arguing to begin with most low kds I know are constantly complaining about whatever their getting killed by without making an effort to improve.
-
Crucible needs its own weapon set. That would enable it to be balanced without screwing up PvE. Iron Banner should stay lopsided, as thats kinda the point of it. ToO should use the crucible weaponset as well, thats supposed to be a show of skill and teamwork after all.

Really only matters in rumble.
-
*checks stats. *sees that Op has a .8 and a .7 and a 0.0 kd *Op probably got told his kd wasn't high enough for trials *opinion invalid
-
1 ReplyIt doesn't matter, sure, but it sure as hell gives you an idea of how competent a player is.
-
You don't need a post this long, just a link to a list of basic logical fallacies. Don't engage with people who fail to adequately use reason.
-
2 RepliesOk "Mr. I patrol for 4 days"
-
6 RepliesWhen you play in an objective based game and actually play the objective, your kd won't be great. Most of these high kd players will go into control and be a slayer, not helping the team at all. So if you mainly play objective based games your kd doesn't have to be amazing. After all it is just a number that can be easily manipulated.

Says the guy with X.X KD.

Muted

1 ReplyIronic that 99% of those who think this way have a negative k/d. And btw just because someone has a positive k/d doesn't mean they think they are pvp gods. I'm average. I have some really good days and some bad ones as well. It's all about the situation you put yourself and the enemy in.
-
1 ReplyYou're right we should use grimoire
-
4 RepliesHmm... that sounds like something a guy with a .8 k/d would say. Git gud.
-
1 ReplyWell with kd it's hard for mine to get up high because my Hunter started with a bad kd. Now it is 0.86 overall but I have gotten 12,901 kills and 15,081 deaths. Trying to make it grow is very difficult
-
1 ReplyK/D started off at 1.20. It's now at 1.03. Thanks Iron Banner!!!
-
1 ReplyKD contributes to your team. So yah it does matter. You go 0-25 or something bad your gonna give the enemy team a lot of points
