Right I'm a ps4 player and I'm getting annoyed of people like insulting people and saying it shouldn't be on old gen. Honestly it should be people feel comfortable playing old gen that's fine and it should be fine with you! People need to grow up and leave the old gen console owners alone why say it shouldn't be? It's disgusting how many people here are horrible enough said

Old gen platforms couldn't handle the animation behind the ToM. Seriously, Bungie has done a fine job keeping old generation involved up until now. It was going to end.
-
1 ReplyIt might be one of the only reasons I try the new dlc lol. This games been held back by lazy people who refuse to get with the times. Old gens are over 10 years old. Get with the times.

Couldnt aggree more mate. There is little understanding or respect left at the moment. I could say i'm happy because i'm a ps4 user (mostly, love my ps3 too). But that doesnt mean i dont think about my fellow guardians and friends who might be in a bad money position for some reason. If i was bungie i would have waited untill Destiny 2 just to not piss off people. However, they did say if you buy a ps4 you can transfer all toons and progression. Also, ps3 users will be able to continue their play in Destiny on a different path. But still, i feel bad for people who really cant affort it. They might be real gamers like us, but cant buy one because they just became a father and need the money for that (just an example).

I play on a 360 bit i own a One, i just was hoping i void wait for destiny 2 to buy destiny for my one. I totally understand bungie moving forward. The population us getting very sparse on Destiny one the 360 anyway... Have any of you last gen players tried to LFG yourself a team!? Its impossible! Let's just face it, it's not worth Bungie's money and time to support us last gen users with new DLC (or any content really)

It would be nice if every gaming system was included, but it cannot be because of technology being greater every year-last months computer is old this month, it's also not cool for everyone either it's expensive to constantly upgrade to the latest and greatest. I gave my Xbox 360 to my brother because he could not buy a gaming system so I bought myself a Xbox one, so I worry about what my brother is going to play on now because microsoft is soon stopping services for it. I feel for you, good luck

I'm sorry to say this, as i spent most of my time on an xbox 360, that splitting is the right thing to do. It meand they can do whatever they like to, without having to worry about constraints, and they copan build Rise of Iron to the specs of these consoles instead. I'm not happy about it, but also it means they don't have to code for four systems, as well as accomadating lower specs and stripping some parts away, such as comparing in vaults or Touch of malice's appearance being reduced.

12 RepliesAgreed. I'm annoyed at people who say that old gen should die and that its holding back the game. They should probably keep their opinions to themselves. I'm a legacy player, as they like to call us now, and I feel very sorry for everyone else on old gen, knowing that we can no longer experience the same joy that current gen will get. I don't mind that because I want destiny to become a better game, but that doesn't mean we need to be shamed and blamed. #rip360/PS3

1 ReplyEdited by Hoops: 6/11/2016 6:25:40 AMConsoles are cheap as chips when compared to iphones and tablets which most people have no problem shelling out money for. I think its good, supporting four consoles is a joke and splits the community. People need to stop hanging on to old tech. Im even considering upgrading to pc as my ps4 is becoming outdated already.

Honestly halo should be on the sega genesis because they sold it on their.
#Sarcasm Just upgrade or deal with it that simple
-
23 RepliesIt should definitely be on last gen consoles. They sold a game to last gen players and should have to support that game. There's no counterargument here.
-
Old gen players have no common sense when it comes to technology. It's clearly not on old gen because old gen is simply not powerful enough. Physically impossible for all gen consoles to play it. People need to think before they whinge

17 RepliesYou know what's funny? When they say that your progress will not be synced anymore after August, it sounds like a threat. "If you don't switch to next gen before Augest, all the things you did on old gen after August are useless." I have never heard this happened in video game expansions before. Why can't they just... Keep it like this, and when we old gen players are ready to buy a ps4 to continue the journey, we can still continue. If they decided to do it like this, well then, i will stop playing Destiny before the syncing stops until i got myself a ps4 and the game, because i don't want to play knowing everything i was doing now are useless.

3 RepliesI'd personally love to play on an xbox one but people like me who can't just she'll out $400 for a system and game. I'll never be able to afford one and I can't sell my current one so I'm screwed
-
There comes a point where they just have to drop the support, the hardware of old gen was holding back features that could probably be put into new gen but can't cause they always have to consider the needs of the old gen crowd. Let's also consider that all the time they spent developing those features for old gen could be spent on more time for stuff for new gen. I understand that they probably have a separate team for old gen but that just means more hands on deck for new gen development and even if its just the same team it's less time spent on old gen and more time on new gen to perhaps get stuff out faster or at least of better quality. It was going to have to happen sometime, bungie just decided it had to happen now.

3 RepliesTy white knight.whats next on your list...trangender bathrooms?minority rights?

They have been holding back the game potential for current gen since release. There is your reason.
-
Good. I've always said Destiny shouldn't have been on last-gen from the start.
-
I get what you're saying, just as time goes on like comps. Software changes and it always will. Even if Bungie wanted to keep this game running on old gen. Its not their decision, it's the higher ups.
-
Yeah on my super Nintendo too lmaoooo

1 Replypersonally, I think last Gen should have been supported until Destiny 2. my guess is that financially it cost more to code it for last Gen than they projected net sales to be. Really, the number reveals they give for things like IB legendary drops suggest maybe 1 million people are actively playing, if that even.
-
Pretty sure Bungie never intended to support last gen beyond year 2. Unfortunately year 3 begins with Rise of Iron instead of Destiny 2. Damn delays.
-
8 RepliesAs a PS4 player I'm definitely ok with it happening. However, I am shocked it's happening. Why make the original game and 3 dlcs for last gen if you're not going to make the whole "destiny 1" package work for last gen. I fully expected destiny 2 to be current gen only, but all of destiny 1 should be what the original game was marketed for, both gens.

19 RepliesEdited by TheKungLao: 6/9/2016 9:58:50 PMI just bought an XOne a month ago. I held out a long time but finally did it. I have no regrets, the game looks far superior on next gen. That being said, I don't think it's right not to support Destiny 1 on last gen for the life of its first installment. Bungie's reasoning doesn't matter to me. If they new this from the start, it should have been made known. Just another shady business action by a once trusted and respected developer. Guess no one should really be surprised at this point. I know I'm not.
-
The only reason it's good they are leaving old gen behind is because that outdated hardware is holding the game back. Plain and simple. Has nothing to do with the owners of said consoles. No reason to bash them.
-
I won't make the claim that the old gen consoles are obsolete, but to continue a franchise on a system that is now a decade old is rather silly. I had a PS3 and now have a PS4. It's just the natural progression of gaming. It costs a lot of money to continue developing for the older consoles, especially when those systems were not designed to handle and run the complex games that are coming into the market.

2 RepliesGoing simply by Moore's Law, current gen consoles are over EIGHT TIMES as powerful as last gen. Add in the fact that last gen each had its own dev kit, while both current gens behave essentially as PCs. To anyone with a brain, it's shocking that they're just now making the change.
