Vegeta is proof that stats don't matter
His kd had to be in the millions. All he ever did was brag about how many people he's killed. Basically since he was a kid and working with Frieza he's been destroying planets. Even had an elite team with a high ELO(Radditz & Nappa). Being the elitist he is, he had to let everyone know he was the Prince of all Saiyans. He was always so serious & a major tryhard
Now we have Goku/Kakarot. He barely killed maybe 2 people, King Piccolo & Gohan Sr, & he died by special beam cannon(To kill Radditz as well), so his KD is maybe a 2.0 at this point.
As superior as Vegetas stats were, Goku defeated him & nappa in a [b]2v1[/b] & uploaded his montage clip to YouTube. He even reached SSJ before Vegeta. Proving he was stronger in every way & Vegeta still tries to catch up to his level.
Moral of the story...Even if you're a scrub, the big foreheaded guy who always tells you git gud is gonna get crushed someday & become as useful as Krillin

And yet Goku's lazy ass surpassing Vegeta is the least realistic thing in the entire show. This is the classic, "the pure-hearted will always win" crap that Jack's people up in real life. Good guy or bad guy, whoever works the hardest at something wins 9 out of 10 times. Realistically, the Orcs and goblins would have kicked the shit out of the elves and humans, because the humans had jobs and family and hobbies, while the Orcs lived, slept and breathed war; it was their sole reason for existence. It's the reason why you are never going to out-ball Kevin Durant and you're never going to out guitar Zakk Wylde; because that's all they do and therefore they're freaking awesome at it. The good news for anyone who's done with this stupid trope is that there is a book on Amazon title Beyond the Hell Cliffs that is amazingly written and will quench your thirst for badassery. It's Lord of the Rings written for grown ass men and women. It's Warcraft with gritty social commentary. Time to put down the fairy tales, ladies and gents, and read something that will move you.
