Bungie - Quit breaking my weapon choices

We all know BungieVision is waaaay to NerfHappy already. But c'mon man, at least pretend you have some idea of what you're doing when you make these changes. Any company I work for implements changes on a test system - you know, to make sure it doesn't break anything else, and the changes actually make sense... That's a pretty solid model. Obviously, Bungie doesn't bother with testing anything, nor do they even look at weapon specs before dropping them into the sandbox. Heavy Ammo Nerf - Let's STEAL the player's available ammo and then make it so they carry even less. What harm will there be?? Let's see Iron Banner Machine Gun - Bretomart's Standd - a favorite in my personal arsenal ( I really liked Jholder's from Y1) Magazine Capacity - 35 rounds ( a bit lacking when compared to similar MGs) Pre Nerf Carry Capacity with a MG Ammo perk - PVE = 110+ Rounds PVP = 1 Heavy Crate - 45+ Rounds Post Nerf Capacity - PVE = 73 Rounds PVP = 33 Rounds ( Yep, you got it - Not EVEN 1 Full Magazine) Every other MG, similar meta or not, gets anywhere from 1.5 to 2.5 Magazines per Heavy Crate. This is a weapon designed specifically for the Crucible and it got shafted like a red-headed step child at Christmas. Bane Of The Taken - House Judgement Machine Gun It's base stats are almost on par with Bretomart''s which would've made it a nice addition to my armory. Some joker got this through development and into the game with a 23 round magazine. 23?? (I thought Bretomart's had capacity issues) I have Scout Rifles with less ammo than that and they are far more deadly. WTF Bungie?? Just as an aside - Elemental primaries - there is no excuse for not having these in our aresenal. You geniuses created Match Game & Iron Clad. You steal our ammo when we switch weapons,. You put on Juggler. How the hell do you expect us to take enemy shileds down with only 2 available weapons,when you give every damn enemy a different shield. type. You also managed to equip them with new elemental primary weapons. Where's ours?? You say you don't want about everyone using the same weapons. Well, what the hell do you expect when you screw around and do sh1t like this?? Fix it and quit screwng with our fun levels. You keep wondering why the player base is dwindling?? Look in a goddamn mirror sometime, point at it, and say "You. You are the reason this game is broken"

    Its just the most lazyiest way to "balance" guns ive ever heard about , by just taking away the ammo 😂 Bungie at its best, some would say.

      You talk about breaking and implanting a test server. Ok that's reasonable But. Then you go on to whine about the lack of heavy ammo. Does not compute First complaint is about testing for actual game breaking bugs The other is whining about a nerf being too big. As if they didn't know how much less ammo it would give us. But o yeh. They told us with patch notes they were purposely gutting heavy ammo To be fair I do agree the loss of heavy a no was too much. But one has little to do with the other

        Get over it... rebalacning will always happen when any weapon or class is doing better than the rest by too much.. tough if you want your easy weapons to stay easy weapons. downvote and insult all you want it will change nothing now or ever. just proves you to be little man children upset big bad mommy bungie will not let you play how YOU want. the downvotes on comments are greatly appreciated. keep it up.

          • Agree on both points. They already nerfed heavy ammo to drop only once per match. I don't see the need for them to also reduce ammo capacity on top of that, aside from maybe 1 or 2 specific weapons where the capacity was a little out of whack (ahem. . . Terminus). On elemental primaries their original intent was to diversify the weapons people were using in those activities which does make some sense. However, there were better ways they could have handled this. I've posted this before but this would be my suggestion for elemental primaries which takes care of the diversity issue and also forces players to make some critical decisions about elemental primary use. 1. Exotic Consumable (think Crux of Crota) - Void, Arc, or Solar to drop from some end game activity (raid, ToO, whatever) 2. Exotic Consumable may be applied to any primary weapon (think Chroma) to apply that elemental type to the weapon. 3. The weapon would then become exotic, meaning it uses your exotic weapon slot. This way players have to make a choice between having these elemental primaries equipped or true Exotics. No running solar primary plus Raze Lighter when the nightfall is solar burn. You need to choose. 4. Elemental effect and Exotic status are permanent so you'd better be sure about which weapons you're upgrading. (In theory you could receive the elemental consumable back upon dismantling the weapon also, to apply to another weapon if you later find something better, but knowing Bungie we'd need to grind to get more of these.)

            • They really have no clue. Shotguns are beginning to run rampant again because they have nerfed the crap out TLW. Its bad enough every other game I go into is half over lately, but to have to cancel our scheduled events because they are still figuring out glitches almost 2 years into this game's release- just shows they have way more than they can handle.

              Bane of the Taken is the same archetype as Jolders and Against All Odds. Breitomarts has lower impact. Regardless, they [i]should[/i] get less ammo than other archetypes because they take fewer shots to kill. The vendor Y1 Against All Odds with field scout got a 50 round magazine with ~80 rounds total in PvP and even if you had bad aim it would only take 4 body shots to kill. It was OP as hell - you could kill [u]10[/u] people without even needing to reload! If you think a scout rifle is more deadly than that you are doing it wrong. (In fact the usual comparison and recommended way to fire AAO was like a scout rifle on steroids)

                You DO realize Bane of the Taken is a 23 round rapid firing hand cannon, right? You can literally get 7 kills on that one magazine. I've had no problem with the nerfs, though LMG's are a bit useless in PvE IMO. Git gud.
